  1. I just checked the AA site and the 3550 (4wd) is only rated for 300 ft-lbs.
  2. I wouldn't put an AX-15 behind a 360 R/T. The AX-15 is good for a mild V8, meaning a 5.0 or 5.2 size, but that extra 100+ ft-lbs from the 360 will test it's limits for sure. 360s have a lot of grunt. I have an '00 R/T myself and did a lot of manual trans conversion research years ago and when I called advanceadapters they said they don't recommend an AX-15. The NV 3500 series of transmission would be a better choice. (which I believe is what came behind the 318) But then, you have to ask yourself why Dodge didn't offer the 3500 behind the 360. I have a feeling that it wouldn't last long enough for a manufacturers warranty.
  3. 30s or 31s. And prepare for your acceleration to suck afterward. Slapping bigger tires on a 2.5L rig without regearing will have consequences in pep. I'd go no bigger than 30s.
  4. Why on earth would you go through the effort of swapping in the front axle when you can't use it? Just leave the 2wd one in there. And I would pass on that Jeep and keep looking for one with the AX-5 so you'll have everything you'll need rather than just some of what you need. A 4.10 Dana 30 is probably the hardest part to find on the list.
  5. My guess is a grounding issue. If it was happening to me, I would start by inspecting the 4 taillight sockets and clean up the ground located behind the drivers side taillight. Then I'd move on to inspecting the front turn signal sockets.
  6. Works for me too. I'm running firefox.
  7. Never been there myself, but I found an online rater: http://www.apartmentratings.com/rate/FL ... illas.html
  8. This page should have most of the info you're looking for. http://jeep.off-road.com/jeep/article/a ... ?id=277008
  9. A photo of your transmission would be helpful.
  10. I don't know how we got noticed. I certainly didn't go seek out the attention. But it looks like we've got some.
  11. The peugeot in my 2wd 88 blew up from daily driving and 30" tires. Wasn't doing anything at the time, just tooling along on the freeway with rush hour traffic. BANG! :shake:
  12. Dana 35s from just about any Jeep can work, you'll just need to get new perches burned on in the proper location. I wouldn't pay much for a 35 though. Maybe a hundred. Now might even be a good time to get a pair of axles with 3.55 gears and get a better gear raio too. :D
  13. Nice Eaton. :D I bet that weighs a few pounds.
  14. 87 2.5L or 87 4.0L?
  15. 2000. At least in TJs. My AX-15 came from a 99 TJ.
  16. I don't understand. :hmm:
  17. Are you prepared to do some wiring? The trans is computer controlled.
  18. The proper procedure for bolting on a rim is to torque to spec in a star pattern, then drive around the block and re-torque. At least that's what I do. Haven't lost a tire yet (knock on wood).
  19. Just small town suburbia. Our city seems to try and pretend it's a bigger and more affluent city. Bunch of posers. :fs1:
  20. The big hose does CCV duty. Not sure what it'd be worth as most guys just rip the dang thing out and run regular vacuum line in it's stead. Maybe someplace where they have visual inspections?
  21. Isn't that your MAP sensor in the middle there? :hmm:
  22. I wouldn't drive it much (around the block a couple times), but I'd do everything needed to keep it "legal". Even if it just sits in the street (although, around here there's a 48 hour rule on that). My trucks are all parked in my neighbors unused parking lot (drs office). I've thought about what would happen if he sold the place and I lost my private parking spaces. The 86 would go to one grandparents, the 90 to the other. The 88 would stay in my driveway and that leaves the Dakota. Not sure what I'd do with it. Although, now that I think about it (again), I'm going to call the Ins company tomorrow and see if my basic parking coverage applies to public roads or just private property. :hmm:
  23. Our engines were designed around a certain amount of back pressure. Individual experience will differ when opening up the exhaust.
  24. I follow all the laws on my trucks that don't move. Each is plated and insured (for parking, not for driving). After that it's just a matter of shuffling them around to avoid the 30 day restriction (a blight rule that says all vehicles have to move every 30 days). Personally, I'd just keep the truck up to date and drive it once in a while.
