  1. Pull the starter and bench test it. It sounds like the solenoid is bad. You can verify with an ohmeter - check for continuity through the coil windings. http://easyautodiagnostics.com/misc-index/starter-motor-bench-test-1
  2. You mean this? It appeared in 84-86 XJs and Wagoneers - rarely.
  3. Which ground wasn't great? The one behind the left tail lamp? That's where everything electrical out back grounds.
  4. AARGH - never mind, got my quick connectors mixed up.
  5. Are you using the correct tool for the quick-connector? Even if one of the "ears" is broken they will still come off.
  6. Starting another thread would be better. Any pre-airbag Saginaw column from another Jeep (MJ, XJ, YJ, etc.) or GM will work.
  7. When you finish the mechanical and body and are ready for paint, that old Ford would look great au naturel; just sanded down with satin coat.
  8. The pump bracket p/n changed in 91 (from 53002910 to 53007616) so there is a difference. I threw all my 91 pump mounting bracketry out when I swapped to the new intake otherwise you could have it.

  10. Mopar does sell a kit for the HO's, but I only downloaded their instructions. I used junkyard parts from a 95 XJ. The only new part I bought was the stalk. It's all PnP for the HO models.
  11. Why do that? You can use two late model Jeep XJ 10-blade fans w/o moving the radiator and keep your A/C. https://comancheclub.com/topic/7895-dual-oem-aux-fan-installation/
  12. Mud tires suck on everything, except mud. I ran a set of BFG MT's for awhile until the tread wore down and the tires started whining/screaming on the pavement. It drove me nuts........
  13. The HO cruise stalk uses the same cruise wire/connector. You can use a piano wire to pull it down through the column. On the HO it plugs into a single yellow connector up on the dash harness directly above the steering column. I ASSume the Renix is the same or similar since it uses the same stalk.
  14. When swapping in a later 4WD AW4 to replace your 2WD AW4 and using your original harness, there will be some pin-out differences in the TCU connector as it changed several times throughout the years. So be sure to mach the wiring by wire function (not color), or you might end up with no torque converter lock or no O/D. Example:
  15. This is true. 15" "skinny" tires like 31x9.5 and 32x10.5 don't exist anymore for anything except off-road mud tires made by manufacturers like Dick Cepek and Mickey Thomson. At least I can't find any. There seems to be a lot of demand for these sizes too...
  16. I'm a moderator. Well, no matter, it's good it's working for all now.
  17. Why did my 20.2 Mb pic get auto-resized then?
  18. ^^ Looks like a lamprey.
  19. Ain't the internet wonderful? It makes it so easy for the scumbags of the world to attract the baitfish.
  20. If you can't create a signature, then at least post more than: "Hey, my commanche's broke. What's wrong?"
  21. The cold weather bypass is optional. It's that blue thingie in the above pic. I don't think I will need it in Bama.
  22. ^^ Thanks for this post schardein. I checked Tru-Cool's site and found the perfect cooler size for my application. It's their p/n LPD49201, pic below. Dimensions are 4" x 23", and it's rated at 22K BTU. It'll fit nicely just above the existing factory cooler in series and hang from brackets off the radiator brace w/o using those tie-wrap thingies.
