  1. For sure.
  2. Crap, it happened today. WTF, it's only money. Actually I like the little guy so far - 28 total miles.
  3. The MJ and XJ visors are different and don't fit each other because the roof lines are different.
  4. Don't get shocks until you get the new springs in and see how it sits. You may have to make adjustments up front to get the stance right. After that is done, then you'll know which shocks to purchase based on their expanded and collapsed specs.
  5. MT rear springs will raise your truck ~3" over what it is now. New MT's gave me a ~2-1/2" lift. If you still the original stock 3+1 4-leaf rear springs, they have probably sagged as much as 2" over the years. To balance it out, consider a new set of OME 930 front coils too. Your front coils probably need to be replaced too if they're the originals.
  6. That's a class act MJ - looks great. The last pic shows some blue accent stripes. Are they for real or a chop? They look damn good if real and are a really nice final touch.
  7. Just do the external cable adjustments. Steel cables stretch over time and need to be adjusted periodically to take out the slack.
  8. You can do this - easy. Might be all you need.

  10. Nice. If I were going to do a diesel conversion, the Benz OM617 would be it. Probably the most reliable engine of any type ever build. Hurry up and get that thing done! It's looking great.
  11. Don't think the improvement was the shocks as much as the springs. They looked a bit beefier and had different p/n's, and I'm sure the spring rate and other specs are different. Anyhow, very glad I did it. Maybe the new JL will be postponed a bit. Mama put most of the miles on the JK, and she loves her Wrangler. Now she's making noises about picking up a new Jeep Renegade or Compass for her driver and keeping the JK in the garage for special occasions.
  12. What's the Renix intake TB hole size?
  13. The red Rubi shocks (and black Sahara shocks) are gas shocks - ride/handle a whole lot better. The Sport shocks are standard pressure shocks.
  14. I had this happen - twice - to my first 2012 JKU when it was new. Both times a dealer ECU reset reboot got rid of all the CELs. But it's never happened on the 2015 JK - yet.
  15. That cap's seal doesn't mean anything. On an open cooling system the pressure is released by the cap into the expansion tank periodically at a certain psi determined by the cap pressure rating. Over time the cap spring gets weaker, and the pressure gets released sooner. As I recall, the stock cap for our HO MJs is 13 pounds, but check to make sure. Replace it with a new 13# cap with a fresh spring, or one rated slightly higher at 14#. The higher pressure will allow the system to tolerate slightly more heat before opening, theoretically keeping the system a bit cooler. Try a new cap - cheaper than a new radiator.
  16. Got the Rubicon springs and shocks on this weekend - was a biotch. Went to a friends muffler shop and used his lift, was still a PITA. Getting too old for this crap I guess. The front springs were especially shot. Sits about an inch higher and rides better than new now, much firmer and much more responsive. If I were keeping it I would have gone with OME shocks (had them on my 2012) but the Rubis will be fine until I get the JL.
  17. Also, this switch just applies a ground to the dash indicator, there's no voltage on it. EDIT: Never-mind - already posted..
  18. Nice job making the tarantula. Looks almost real.
  19. I could do 4 separate blocks per side. But I'm talking about one formed piece for each side.
  20. A loose track bar can cause drifting from side to side requiring constant steering adjustments, and in more extreme cases shimmy and vibrations that can cause death wobble. Loose steering is caused caused by worn tie rod ends, a loose / maladjusted steering gear box, etc. Anywhere there's play will cause loose steering. Pretty easy to see if you're under there looking at each joint in the system while someone is rocking the steering wheel side-to-side .
  21. Last time I looked the floors were not flat. But that wasn't recently..
  22. Would they bolt between the floor and the OEM bucket sliders? If so, I'd take a set, i" or 1-1/2" tall.
  23. Hey Krusty - ever consider making a set of MJ bucket seat riser brackets to raise the seats an inch or so? They would bolt between the existing floor seat studs and the bucket seat bases. I think you could sell a lot of them.
