  1. Nice table - hadn't seen that one before. And if you don't like Bilsteins (I don't), you can use the Bilstein part number to find a compatible shock from another manufacturer's cross-reference.
  2. Wow - the tire looks huge back there. But the carrier keeps your bed available.
  3. Thanks, didn't realize it was so small.
  4. Yes, it's a hack and looks goofy, but it's better than nothing I guess..
  5. I mean the Renix intake manifold hole. I have a 99+ intake on my HO and the intake hole is 62mm. Using a bored throttle body that's been punched out to 62mm all the way through. So it's a nice straight shot..
  6. The stock size. The HOs are 62mm, just curious if the Renix is close..
  7. This Amazon user claims to have used a GM tailgate handle on his MJ successfully. Anyone here? Looks like some hacking and slashing is required...
  8. $14.79 on Ebay. https://www.ebay.com/itm/New-MILWAUKEE-48-89-9201-Step-Drill-Bit-1-8-thru-1-2/153070256610?hash=item23a3b2c1e2:g:T6wAAOSwllpbGHlK
  9. According to the parts manual, only the exports had a bushing on the brake pedal MC push rod stud; domestics did not. No idea why. P/n J3215928. I suppose it wouldn't be all that hard to fab one up if it's that sloppy.....
  10. Completely forgot about the solenoids. Here's how to check the solenoid coils w/o pulling the tranny pan. It's done at the white 7-pin connector on the AW4 harness in the transmission tunnel. On the below diagram, pin B is tied to the ground side of each solenoid. Use an ohmmeter to check for a solenoid coil resistance of 12-15 ohms across pins G to B (S1), F to B (S2), and E to B (S3). An open circuit (infinite resistance) indicates an open solenoid that must be replaced.
  11. On top of the proportioning valve.
  12. I think you've exhausted all of the possible external causes of your no shift problem. Time for a visit to the transmission shop to check the AW4 hydraulics and other internal diagnostics.
  13. Those old Ford 351 Windsors keep chugging forever. Looks like it'll do what you want it to just fine.
  14. Damn Pete. So sad to hear this. So many PMs with him over the years. We both worked at the Army Kwajalein Missile Range for several years although at different times. Knew a lot of the same guys there and we swapped a lot of stories over the years back-channel. He was a hell of a guy and I'm sorry I never met him in person. Jim turned 83 in April of this year. RIP big guy..
  15. Must be the herds of Cali sheep buying them John. I don't see any of them in Bama unless they are passing through. But I don't really look for them either. We bought a new Jeep Compass a few days ago for Mama to drive around in and save wear and tear on the JK. Our local Jeep dealer also sells new Fords, so we test drove a new Ford Focus Electric just for grins. I hated it; she hated it even worse. It was just... weird. Some day if I live long enough I'll probably have to buy one because there won't be anything else, but no way now..
  16. Can you imagine going to a drag meet or NASCAR race and all you hear are the tires screeching on the pavement and barely audible whirring noises going up and down in frequency? And everyone is gushing about the latest micro 100lb battery bank that has an efficiency rating of 99.99% and a 10,000 AH @ 1000 amp capacity? Just wouldn't be the same as hearing a blown hemi blasting off the line or a 900HP NASCAR engine blowing by at 8000RPM..
  17. The Power/Comfort switch turns a 12V signal on/off at pin C11 of the TCU. It has no direct connection to the ECU.
  18. Captain Obvious says: "Gasoline, diesel, propane, etc. are all going the way of the dinosaur. EV's are taking over whether we like it or not. Big rig tucks will be the last to convert, but pretty soon the alternative fuel for everything will be electricity."
  19. He might even sell it if he posted the gear ratio. But he probably doesn't know..
  20. ^^ Thanks for getting back on topic. Yes, that was a gorgeous XJ. Those chrome Ravines look great..
  21. I did just the opposite, installed the upper and lower Renix chrome grill pieces on my 91 but kept the original headlight doors. This allows me to swap in the more cool 21 or 10 slot Renix grilles for a quick facelift whenever I get bored with one or the other. The HOs only had the full 8-slot grilles.
  22. That would be a good comparision side-to-side.
  23. Agree. I replaced my Hella E-code lamps with Truck-Lites and kept the relay harness. I felt the high beam penetration on the E-codes was a bit better than the Truck-Lites but the Truck-Lites had better coverage on the low beams. Plus the LEDs drew about 1/8 the amperage, so it's a good swap IMO.
  24. ^^ This, then grease the crap out of it. BTW, is there a spare hung from it now?
