  1. I'm glad they were exposed. Too bad for the suckers that bought them though. The German company Osram manufactured quality automotive lighting products until they merged with Sylvania. Osram was OEM equipment on Benzs, BMWs, Audis etc.; good products all. Now they have "outsourced" overseas like everything else. :shake:
  2. Damn, the suspension and flex are amazing on that truck. It seems to land as softly as a hummingbird touching down. Great vid yellaheep.
  3. This must have something to do with the very ordinary Sylvania SilverStar headlamps with extraordinary claims that everyone raved about, si?
  4. That was my thought as well, although I would never use it for that purpose. Other than steering, there really isn't any fluids under the hood to keep cool. I've read about guys doing just that on rock crawlers, but when taking fluid temps before and after, running the power steering fluid through the radiator cooler actually made the fluid hotter than w/o it. So probably not a good idea.
  5. You have to pull the pin as you stated, then remove the two nuts holding it on. Unfasten the door panel from the top and front to get enough slack to pull the panel out a little, reach up inside the inner door and slide the door check out into the inner door to remove it. Note the orientation how it came out, then insert the new door check back in the same way and bolt it back up. They will go in 180* out, but they don't work at all like that. I know.
  6. I remember Garrett and Chico. Great character.
  7. No problem - just raggin you. It's good to see someone besides myself misreading a post. But what is far worse than misreading a post is that the OP can't even spell very. :shake: Now I'm raggin you Jay. :rotfl2:
  8. ATF+4 Dex/Merc II and/or III only. No ATF+4 in AW4.
  9. The vehicle turning radius is also governed by the internal stops in the steering gear box itself. For instance the 93-98 Jeep ZJ Saginaw "TC" box's Pitman arm turning arc is 43deg 45min. The max turning arc available for the QR Saginaw TC boxes used in GM vehicles was 43deg 30min (1967-93 Camaros). Most of the others were only about 35 deg. That's why I used the ZJ box; it had one of the quickest gear ratios (12.7:1) and the widest turning arc of all the stock boxes I looked at. And with the curved WJ LCAs, you can crank in the knuckle stops to max and turn on a dime.

  11. Yes, that's a good location. It has to be like 80-100 degrees cooler than the intake manifold.
  12. I had that same problem on my 91 especially on hot summer days when stopping and shutting down for a few minutes. When starting back up I'd get long cranks before it fired up, then rough idling for a bit. Sometimes it wouldn't fire at all so like you I'd let it sit for 15 minutes then it started right up. I figured IAT sensor heat might be the cause. What I did was pickup a new IAT sensor, drilled and tapped a new hole (1/8 NPT) and mounted for it in the cold air intake. I left the original IAT in it's stock location on the intake manifold. So in the summer I plug into the CAI tube; in winter it goes back to the stock manifold location. It required extending the IAT harness a few inches to reach the new location. It cured the long crank times and rough idling for me.
  13. Alexia's pic. He had to drill the hole. Image Not Found
  14. Read much?
  15. ^^ Nice way of putting it. OP, create a signature in your profile detailing the year, model, and engine at minimum in your rig to eliminate the guessing game.
  16. I'm sure it's the right one for the Putco harness, as was your question. It's the same one I used many moons ago when it was marketed by IPD. The other one you reference is not from Putco, it's from octane_lighting ?, but it should be fine also. It's up to you. Go for it...............
  17. If that tab is sheared off, you will have to replace the pinion yoke too. That happened to me on the old D35 when one of the straps loosened up.
  18. Yes, that's the one. Here's a better pic of it:
  19. Are you saying that the one of the rear u-joint cups under the steel straps was gone? :hmm: If so, the tab on the pinion yoke that holds it in might be snapped off.
  20. I heard that too Coffman. Also heard Team Penske is coming to over to Oz next year to campaign in the V8 Supercars Championship. Guess who will be driving for Team Penske? Let's just say Penske will have a great driver. Heh-heh. When I used to travel around down there I always rented the baddest Ford Falcon they had or sometimes a Ute. Years ago I owned both a 65 Falcon Sprint and 64 Ranchero and have loved Falcons ever since. Wish we still made them...........
  21. Did you use inner tubes Ben? Or no leaks?
