  1. How about one of these Pete? Not free, but nearly so..........
  2. Fish, cut bait, or sell it in the Classifieds. haha.
  3. It means a 2205 lb. payload and it comes with the D44 and 5-leaf metric ton rear leaf springs option package. You have a very rare model especially since it's a 92. Post some pics up when you get a chance, and register your VIN here: http://comancheclub.com/forum/35-1992/
  4. Great, sounds like you have it "wired". Hope the little bastids didn't do too much damage. Next you should probably utilize Cruiser's ground and connector refreshing tips here: http://comancheclub.com/topic/36382-cruisers-renix-tips/
  5. Start troubleshooting by disconnecting the sockets from the headlamps. Using a test light or multimeter and with the headlamps switched to low beam, check for 12V on the low beam socket terminals. Repeat for the high beams. Your wire colors may or may not match the diagram; use the pin orientation for your guide. Let us know what you find.
  6. Let us know how it goes.
  7. Minor gains at best mate.
  8. Good to hear you chime in Jim-san. I learned to drive on my Grand-Dads 39 Chevy sedan three-on-the-tree vacuum shift ripping up the dirt roads in NH when I was 12 years old. The "stick shift vs. auto" thread humors me - back then you didn't have a choice - that's all there was. Went into the Navy because they offered me the most $$ to start - guaranteed hazardous duty pay on subs if I could qualify for the boats. I did, reported to the USS Dogfish after sub school, and the next day got underway for Cuba. Best thing I ever did. Spent the rest of my working career working for Uncle in one capacity or another.
  9. All I can do is respond to what worked for me. All the above applies to Renix stuff it seems, except for John's post above. With a stroker, with a 99+ intake manifold, and with a 62mm throttle body to match the manifold, all was well. Picked up a Hesco 62mm throttle body spacer, installed it, and had tranny late shifting problems due to the bend the TV and accelerator cables had to make with the valve cover cable guide at it's stock location. When I raised the cable guide guide up 1" off the valve cover to match the height of the spacer, everything was super smooth after the ECU relearned. It quieted down the too quick throttle response, smoothed the shift points, and improved idle a lot. It's time for another dyno run at Hesco since I've done quite a few mods since the last run, and I expect to see some slight improvement. Particularly if the new 96 throttle body mounted MAP provides the same outputs to the ECU over the RPM range. Getting back to the OP's question, the answer is no, a TB spacer will do nothing harmful or gainful for an NA Renix. Not much of anything else will either.
  10. Even at the dealership the bolts are only $1.91. But they are not stainless. Who cares..................

  12. I looked at a bit differently back then. The Cold War was in high gear, Nam was gearing up, so the "Duck and Cover" drill was US-wide. SOP, no problem. I didn't worry about getting drafted, but wanted to control my own destiny. Instead of being drafted, or running away to Canada, I joined the Navy. Ended up on a diesel submarine and my first cruise was a run down south to Cuba during the Bay of Pigs crisis. Our boat evacuated a lot of US folks there, and I think to this day that operation was the beginning of the eventual downfall of the Russian Bear menace. Lots of political crap going on then and in retrospect seems ridiculous now, but you did what you had to do where I came from. I think Rob understands.
  13. Agree - had to be 57 or 58 when the video was filmed. What surprised me most were the cars I thought appeared more than any others were the 49-51 "shoebox" Ford flathead V8s. And they were at least six years old at that time. There were quite a few Mercurys too. I really enjoyed watching this and just had to share.
  14. Dreamland BBQ and HESCO.
  15. The 1997 and up XJs had the 10-blade fan. The connector was different so you will have to splice in your old fan connector. Also these fans draw about five more amps on startup, so you may have to increase the fuse size appropriately.
