  1. The short shaft gears didn't happen until1993, so all MJs have the long shaft speedo gears, including the 91-92 models w. electronic speedos. Also, the gears for both are the same, and the shafts can be changed out easily.
  2. I don't keep track of it because there's not a damn thing I can do to control the price. However I have noticed that since fuel prices started going down, my personal fuel (beer) price has been going up. :hmm:
  3. The Gates 28470 heater hose will work for this: http://www.amazon.com/Gates-28470-Heater-Hose/dp/B000C2UDL2/ref=au_as_r?ie=UTF8&Make=Jeep|42&Model=Cherokee|347&Year=1988|1988&n=15684181&newVehicle=1&s=automotive&vehicleId=1&vehicleType=automotive or http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/detail/GAT0/28470.oap?year=2000&make=AM%2BGeneral&model=Hummer&vi=1361146&ck=Search_28470_1361146_1312&keyword=28470
  4. Doesn't matter, all electronic or cable speedometers all use a speedo gear for calibration based on tire size and drive ratio. Use this site to determine which gear you need: http://gojeep.willyshotrod.com/HowtoSpeedoGears.htm And what's with all the exclamation points!
  5. Remove existing 1/8 NPT sender, install T-fitting, install sender(s). Clearance should not be an issue. There's no factory adapter with two ports.
  6. It can be stockpiled.
  7. It's been over 30 years since I've been there. And you guys are referring to Abu Dhabi, not Al Dhafra airbase. The airbase is a sandpile operated by the UAE AF. Lovely, eh?
  8. She told me they are only allowed a ration of two beers daily on base. It's probably some rotgut like BudLite or something too. That's gotta be tough. Al Dhafra is about 20 miles away from Abu Dhabi, and if she goes to town she has to wear a burka or whatever they are called. Time will tell when she gets set up and the email starts coming.
  9. My USAF 1st Lt daughter #2 arrived last night at Al Dhafra airbase near Abu Dhabi, UAE. She will be there for 4-6 months flying AWACS missions in a Boeing E3 Sentry. I was there briefly many years ago when it was nothing but a sheite-pile of sand. It's a lot better now, but still just a larger pile of sand. This is her first deployment after nearly two years of training at Tinker AFB. It will be good to hear from her after a few missions to hear how she's doing. Trying my best to keep Mom from worrying. And Dad............
  10. I have the IPD headlamp relay harness (predecessor of whomever marketing it now) with H4 bulbs and E-code Hella housings. The headlamp delay module works as it should - no mods to it. hornbrod, not hornbred skidoo.
  11. I painted quite a few cars and trucks while on shore duty in the Navy on the side back in the early 70's using one-step enamel paints and an old Binks gun that looked like the one below. Not bragging, but if the vehicle was prepped right, it came out nice and I had a more work that I could handle even with others doing the prep work. Have not painted a vehicle since. Does anyone paint like that anymore?
  12. Look up the fuel rail diagram in the 1988-1990 XJ Parts catalog. https://onedrive.live.com/?cid=c40904cfda278a46&id=C40904CFDA278A46!115
  13. Using a dab of grease on the ball before assembly will help it last forever.
  14. No need to swap pulleys or drill bolt access holes if you are swapping a 91-04 pump into a 91 or 92 MJ.
  15. Yeah, you haven't posted that jibberish since last week. :rotfl2: Bring your Renix junk over (with your wallet of course) and we'll give it a go.
  16. Any of you Renix guys do a before and after dyno run with these bored throttle bodies? If not, it's just wishful thinking from your butt-dyno mistaking better throttle response with more power. But that's cool - I like more sensitive throttle response too.
  17. Your brain sucks probably from banging your gourd on that light all the time. :rotfl2:
  18. A good possibility is ignition switch adjustment or a fried ignition switch and/or connector.
  19. I just replaced mine, worked fine. Got it here: http://www.jeep4x4center.com/accelerator-cable-2-5l-4-0l-53006556.html EDIT: Just noticed you have a Renix. Disregard, my 91 has a different cable.
  20. ^^ First thing is to determine if the problem is electrical or hydralic. Use the below to perform the Manual Shift Test.
  21. :hmm: It doesn't run to anywhere. The black wire screwed to the sheet metal provides the ground return connection for the fuel pump and the rear light circuits.
