  1. Mine took a bit longer than that. I ordered them back in 06, and they arrived promptly, maybe three days or so. But, he sent one regulation NOS factory spring, and one reproduction. Of course the NOS MT spring was his "Model" and had to go back and another reproduction shipped. I compared them real well first and was happy to see everything was the same as the Mopar original; free arch, end cuts of the individual leafs, bushings, etc., a perfect reproduction.
  2. The Silver Hawk carb might have been a Carter AFB used with the Paxton superchargers. Swapping the Paxton, carb, and manifold over to the Hawks 259/289 V8 was a pretty common upgrade. I had a 63 Avanti R2 years ago with the Paxton, and the Carter AFB carb built for the Paxton superchargers did not look like a non-supercharged Carter AFB carb at all. It was odd looking..........
  3. Well, at least the guy showed good taste in stealing an MJ. He could have stolen a Hummer, Land Rover or some other POS.
  4. I have the Mopar black stainless visors. They help in that you can crank the window down an inch or so when driving in the rain and water doesn't come in, but they do nothing to lessen wind noise.
  5. Huh? :hmm:
  6. Good to see you out and about again collecting more MJs and XJs Jim. And since it's a 91, you picked up a good one this time. Your wife must be a very savvy lady.
  7. No matter which vehicle the AW4 comes from, the TCU must match the harness you are using. http://comancheclub.com/topic/41001-tcu-era-differences/?hl=converter&do=findComment&comment=414264
  8. Not really. Various versions of the A340s were used in many Toyota, Volvo, and Lexus models. The A340E is identical to our AW4s except the dipstick comes in on the left side of the pan.
  9. Or he swapped a Toy A340x into the XJ.
  10. Be aware the TCU pinouts are slightly different between the Renix and HO connectors. The torque converter lock-up signal comes to mind. This is all documented in one of ParadiseMJ's threads.
  11. Shock Table Courtesy of Eagle
  12. 10-4 all the above. But the gold color gives it a slight bling factor.
  13. Meh. That's just reflexion from the yellow plow. Must not have done much plowing either - the Meyer decal still looks good. It was probably used mostly for a lawn ornament...........
  14. :rotfl2: Yep. I can just imagine some dude cruisin' down Miami's Ocean Drive in it.
  15. The bolts are kind of unique as they have a flange head, a 9.8 hardness factor, and a "no threads" shoulder that rides inside the spring bushing sleeves. I doubt you will find these in a hardware store.
  16. It's a novelty plow rig for some fatcat with a mile ling driveway. :rotfl2:
  17. I installed a set of these years ago; expect about 2.0"-2.5" lift over what you have now. They don't settle too much either, maybe 1/2". I reused my leaf spring bolts; they were not even rusted. Be sure to clean/grease them up when installing. If you need new bolts, the size is M14x2.0x120. http://www.jeep4x4center.com/mopar-spring-eye-bolt-34202118.html TIP: Be sure the leaf center bolt is tight (mine were not) because once the springs are installed, you can't tighten it up w/o removing the u-bolts to get to the bolt head. It will just spin........
  18. I think I would find a beater to plow with rather than this gorgeous Waggy. Only 85K original miles too.
  19. Those teams could all play each other all day and none of them would win. :rotfl2:
  20. AX5 is a 5-speed, but in 91 they were used only for the 2.5 and diesel models. The 91 4.0 got the beefier AX15 5-speed transmissions.
  21. ZJ steering ratio is 12.7:1 as opposed to the XJ/MJ's 14:1. You can do the math for the rest. Makes a difference, both in tight quarters and on the road. Camaro or Firebird owners grab the ZJ box because the ratio is quicker than any GM stock box. http://www.chevelles.com/techref/ftecref29.html
  22. What's confusing? ZJ shocks are nearly the same specs and travel as MJ/XJ shocks. Do you have your "budget" lift installed yet? If not, install it, then get your shocks based on what lift you actually get. Have you thought about the rear shocks? Also think about bar pin eliminators. That will give you about a 1-1/2" extension, and you can possibly use your existing front shocks.
  23. Of course, but since the ZJ shocks have basically the same specs as the MJ shocks, well, you know what I'm sayin.
  24. Recommend just leaving it there and simply mount and plumb a new reservoir in the engine bay where it belongs. http://comancheclub.com/topic/16154-vacuum-reservoir-relocation/?hl=reservoir
  25. Nope. Front shocks on stock XJs and MJs are the same. ZJ shocks are too short for an MJ w. 2" lift. Might work until you hit a speed bump.
