The right thermostat is the Mopar 83501426 from the dealer, not Stant, not Crown, or any other C.R.A.P. Also when replacing the O2 sensor, Mopar or NGK is best.

92 and up models had the temp sensor with the connector.
I can see why the OP is confused. Check out Amazon's description of the TS 199:

^^ Pretty sure Pete didn't miss the dam pic.
I fished there a few times in the 80's when we lived in VA. We used to call it the Dead Sea as we nearly always got skunked bass fishing. Maybe it's better now...
It also has the factory rear tube bumper and only 86K miles. But otherwise it's just a common 4x4 Sport model. Must have been a special order model or dealer-installed options when new.
Jegs, Quadretec, Hesco, and others still sell the Mopar MPI conversion kit. A mere $2,960.99 to your door.

For the HO years, the 16 gallon tank was not offered, only the 18 and 23.5 gallon tanks.
1 TANK, Fuel
8350 3398 1 18 Gal. - Gas
8350 2632 1 23.5 Gal. - Gas
8350 2635 1 Diesel
You probably have the 16 gallon tank - that was the smallest. The others were 18 and 23.5 gallons. The 18 gallon will fit in your short bed, but the 23.5 will not, at least I've never heard of anyone doing it.
I have an MJ D44 axle with 1-1/4" Spidertrax spacers on both sides, making the axle 2-1/2" wider than the stock. I run 31" tires on stock Jeep wheels (Turbines) and have a bit over 1-1/2" space between at the narrowest point between the tire sidewall and the inside of the rear wheel wells. I don't see how any axle could deflect that much for the tires to rub unless something was wrong.
