No spark on my 86Comanche 2.5

If you had replaced the CPS with a genuine Mopar unit instead of using aftermarket junk you would only have to do it once. -
Our new Compass has the crappy ESS feature. First thing I did with 14 miles on the clock was disable it.

Thanks all for sharing - good stuff from everyone. We all have our personal battles to fight in our own way. Personally still have a long way still to go, but coming up on three weeks mañana - not that I'm counting. Really appreciate everyone's comments and input - thanks again. Lots of good guys here on CC.

I've been looking for years - they don't exist. I'm going to try some orange lens tint on a spare set.

Left headlights on a few times. Dead Batt

Classic yuk-yuk faux pas. Yes, the visual indicator works great at night, buy only sometimes during the day. Unfortunately in some states, in some counties, when it's raining in the daytime, the local law requires drivers to turn their headlamps on. Rain stops, drive home, headlamps still on, park in the garage, walk away, don't eyeball the headlamps, night falls, crap happens. I'm sure you can envision this happening. The buzzer prevents this. Cheap protection for us not so vigilant drivers. As I'm sure you are Dirty. -
That rig would work in select counties in Bama, probably a couple in GA too, but I doubt it would fly anywhere else.

Getting back to the OP's original question, the only PnP stock option for a "Headlights On" alarm (buzzer) is to install the 7-pin blue color chime module, p/n 22514857, on the fuse block. They were still available (at least they were last year) from the stealer. It also has has SF8956001076 (AMC p/n) written on the side. But it's easy and cheaper to find at the yard, make sure you pull the one with the blue case and seven pins. Most all 94 and up XJ's had them. I have a bunch of them - if you need shoot me a PM. -
88 Sport Low N Slow

Yup, it is. -
Good thinking and a good example of KISS. Everything back aft including the fuel pump in an MJ is grounded to a single sheet metal screw behind the left tail lamp. A good improvement is to that ground point to a larger 10AWG-6AWG wire behind the lamp and run it down to a solid ground point on the frame. I used a trailer hitch bolt for mine.

If it has a D44 it has slightly larger shoes than a D35, but that won't affect the rear bleeding procedure.

You guys have it rough in Canada. Your wheeler-dealers sound like a bunch of non-helpful azzrags. I go to my local dealer - if he doesn't have the part and can get it from another US dealer, he gets it and charges me normal retail. Don't know if all US dealerships are like that, but my little local dealer is. Maybe because we have purchased a few vehicles from them in the past helps too.

As stated, there will be a blue or black buzzer box installed on your fuse block. If black, there is no "HEADLAMPS ON" buzzer. Only the blue box has this function. Of course, if someone has removed the box, you will have to install one to get the lights on buzzer. Here's a pic of the blue box: -
The column ignition switch.

This thread deals with the same Renix system fuel pump problem you are having with the fuel pump. Ignition switch....
-
What year model is it? What did you have to do to fix the steering column? Did you check ignition switch alignment?
-
They're available on Ebay and elsewhere at Mopar parts houses. Here

I've had problems with both the C.R.A.P. Crown 5/16" and 3/8" fuel line repair kits in the past. Get a Mopar kit (same p/n) and it will snap in properly and not leak - ever. It's just not worth it to save a couple of bucks.

There are no listing / relisting fees for sellers or fees for the selling price on Ebay. When the item sells there is an insertion fee and a fixed percentage of the selling price depending on what category the item is.

Parking Brake Release Cable & Handle
HOrnbrod replied to Manche757's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Have you used this YJ foot brake on an MJ? -
Yes, according to Moog's numbers. But the p/n's for the MJ and XJ fronts are different in the factory manual. Why I don't know. The bushes appear to be the same size. I suspect the Moog bushings will work in either vehicle as they have been marketing these for a long time. If they didn't interchange, they would have fixed it by now.
-
Yeah, looks like Moog is calling the same p/n for the MJ and XJ front bushings. Here's the actual size for the MJs: Front bushing is 2-1/2" O.D. x 3-1/8" O.A.L. x 9/16" bolt size. Rear shackle bushing is 1-3/4" O.D x 2-3/4" O.A.L. x 9/16" bolt size.

Great looking MJ, but unfortunately that's not a factory roll bar. As clean as that unspoiled beauty is, who cares? Nice find.
