    Chevron Delo 400LE 15w-40 diesel motor oil synthetic year round. I run this oil because of the high zinc content and high zinc is best for our 4.0 flat tappet cams.

    Look for build threads from "Darren" or "GoBlazers" or shoot him a PM. He did a good job lowering an MJ for autocross as I recall, the best I've seen and had lots of pics.

    Your 88 has the AMC Renix system; the Chrysler system came online with the 1991 models. So if you want to keep it simple(er), you will need a 1990 or below 4WD I6 donor.

    Good point. It's possible he could have an AX-15 in his 88 since it came out in midyear 1988 for XJs/MJs. Not likely though...

    It will probably be fine. I have the short Detours light bar on mine and have two 10" x 7" Marchals on it - no problems.

    The Detours light bar and Hellas look good. Are you concerned at all with radiator air flow blockage?

    If you are going to use an AX15 transmission, you will need to use the manual transmission crossmember. It dips down about 1" more than the suto tranny crossmember to allow additional clearance.

    John, you couldn't pay me enough to go back there, or anywhere else in Asia. Spent almost 30 years traveling around the Pacific Rim for Uncle as a civilian. I imagine it's a lot different though if you're on vacation.
