  1. Samsung has come out with new a new line of "Smart" refrigerators. They have three cameras inside that can be turned on remotely using an IPhone app. Now Mom can ring up her refrigerator when she's at the grocery store to view all the food inside so she can buy just what she needs. Jesus. This has got to be one of the stupidest useless apps I've ever seen. Insanity maximus. :shake:
  2. I like! That would be one cool unique MJ. Gotta lose that topper though.
  3. Cut out the wheel well and put a big old slick in the back and you'll have an MJ LWB gasser.
  4. ^^ THIS one should work just fine.
  5. I have never seen nor heard of any OBD1 4.0L HO engine throwing that many codes and still run. Most every sensor is throwing a code. The only semi-common thing some of these sensors share is the +5VDC reference voltage generated by the ECU. Do you have a volt meter? A convenient place to measure it is at the MAP sensor connector. Disconnect the MAP sensor connector, turn the ignition ON, and measure the voltage at the purple/white wire pin on the connector. It should read very close to 5VDC. Also while you're there, make sure the MAP vacuum supply line is connected and not broken back to the intake manifold.
  6. Cali cars - gotta love it. That decked out Land Rover isn't too shabby either. It's probably never seen a dirt road though.
  7. If you place that emblem on an MJ that is not a genuine factory Metric Ton model, you will be arrested and imprisoned with no hope of parole. And your truck will be impounded, parted out, then crushed. To save yourself and your MJ from that horrible fate you should immediately send the emblem to me via USPS insured overnight priority mail. I have PMed you my mailing address......................
  8. The way I read it, he replaced the head gasket (for unknown reasons) then his problems started. Clogged cat, fuel pressure etc etc. blah blah would have already been there. A compression test is first in logical order in my humble opinion to verify the install. OP, what were the symptoms as to knowing "the head gasket crapped out"?
  9. Get rid of the codes and clean out the memory and using the below procedure to start the ECM from scratch. It should help: Clearing error codes and removing residual memory 1. Disconnect the POSITIVE battery Terminal and touch it to ground for 30 seconds. (This is to discharge the PCM capacitors, which maintain the Adaptive Memory. 2. Reconnect the Positive Battery Cable 3. Turn Ignition Switch to the "ON" position but DO NOT start the engine 4. Turn Headlight "ON" 5. Turn Headlights "OFF" 6. Turn Ignition Key "OFF" The PCM Adaptive memory has now been flashed, or erased from the PCM.
  10. Sounds like you are not going fully into closed loop operation, i.e.staying in open mode. Plus it looks like you have a CEL. My first suspect would be the O2 sensor. Either it's bad or the harness got fried by the exhaust manifold or pipe. I had a bad O2 sensor once with no code 21.
  11. Check for fault codes. http://comancheclub.com/topic/28111-reading-obdi-91-and-92-mj-fault-codes/
  12. Do a compression test.
  13. No rag joints on the Jeep MJ/XJ Saginaw columns, all u-joints. And they do wear out and can definitely cause steering slop.
  14. Can't remember - are there provisions in the MJ distribution block for installing the XJ proportioning valve "guts" w/o swapping the block itself?
  15. Rear driveshaft series 1310 both ends, front driveshaft 1310 axle end.

    Armadillos!

Thank you - I've been dillo educated. Gus has kept our back yard vermin free for years (possums, snakes, turtles, geese, ducks, etc.). He's even killed a few copper heads and moccasins. But he's getting older, and has a buddy now he's training, a rescue miniature poodle who's really doing well out there. But they are both dillo ignorant, as I am, and I appreciate your experienced advice on these critters.

    Armadillos!

Went out to the backyard this morning and it was full of holes, each about 4" wide and 5" deep. All over the damn place. I knew they were armadillo holes because I've seen them before, but never in my yard or in N. Alabama. The only armadillos I've ever seen here were roadkill. Gus the cocker spaniel was enraged and picked up the trail quickly and followed it down to the lake. There were footprints in and out of the water, so that's how the bastids got in my yard, they freakin' swam in. The whole yard is fenced so it was the only way. Bastids. Gus will be on watch tonight on the back deck, and I expect to see several armadillo carcasses in the morning. But I'll be happy with one.The bastids made a mess........... Anyone ever had an armadillo problem? This is my first.
  18. Nice grocery getter. :rotfl2: NOT!
  19. Try adjusting the throttle valve cable next. The procedure is at the end of this link: http://www.lunghd.com/Tech_Articles/Transmission_and_Transfer_Case/Transmission_Throttle_Cable_Replacement.htm
  20. Check these out Adam. The price is right, it's for 2-1/2" W springs, and the shock bolt you supply is 1/2". Plus they are beefy at 1/4" thick metal. If they fit your u-bolt pattern (they should given the dimensions), I don't see any reason why they won't work with MJ springs. http://www.speedwaymotors.com/Speedway-Leaf-Spring-Lower-Shock-Mounting-Plate,3528.html
  21. Wow, ya done good Knuck! She looks excellent. Where (in Bama) did you find it? Usually people selling vehicles in this state think their junk is gold plated. Congrats - .
  22. Stick a vacuum gauge on it and see how much it's pulling and if vacuum is steady at the booster. Check for leaking / collapsing booster vacuum hose, and if the check valve is working.
  23. Mine doesn't - works as it should. :dunno:
  24. The track bar bracket p/n changed in 1991. Don't know what the difference is though. maybe you should check out a 90 and below bracket to see if they are the same. I had zero problems installing the Teraflex bar on my 91. The hole taper and ID was fine.
  25. We are mate. My grandfather up in NH drove Hudson's and Nashes exclusively his whole life. The first vehicle I ever drove was his old 39 Hudson pickup. It was like a big El Camino, only uglier.
