Are the front coils marked by the manufacturer? Any hopes of figuring out the specs at least would be cool...... So you're saying you got the last front air dam huh? Dood........ ya gotta have a mold made! :thumbsup: Hook us bruthas up! Or at least so you have the ability to replicate the one you have..... it would suck to have a cone eat it up..... or go off track and tear it up in the soft shoulder....... But hey, thanks a bunch for sharing your experiences and build as you delve into your Archer build! Hope to figure out a few things myself along the way toward replicating and racing one of these trucks. I did get fortunate enough to find a rear tube bumper just like one of the Archer trucks had on it......... for mine...... :D I believe I've found my project truck too....... likely bringing it home tomorrow.

Have you driven this truck at all with the new suspension? I'm curious how it compares to stock. I'm building one of these myself........ tempted to make contact with Archer Racing myself and see if I can talk them out of a set of coils, leaves and shocks for my truck. Would love to score a front air dam as well.......

Getting the last of the odd pieces ordered today........ the front axle 5 on 4.5 to 8 on 6.5 dually wheel adaptors! For some reason, the company Drachir used isn't answering their phones....... so I had to go surfing..... and ended up with what I believe will be an equal if not better product. Motorsport Tech www.motorsport-tech.com Sparks Nevada $350 shipped for the pair! They said 2 weeks. I'll hopefully post up a pic with them test-fitted ....... if we're not buried in snow by then....... :D

Nice! I have 8 tailgates myself..... But all are rust free and straight except for one..... Perhaps I've just found a purpose for it....:D

Throttle position sensor sounds like it's gone bad. Nice clean little truck. I'm currently trying to find that exact same truck to do a road race build.

Hey, another former NAXJA guy has found his way over here to ComancheClub! Long time no see Tim! I was in a similar situation...... bogged down with XJ's 'cuz I couldn't find a decent MJ. 2 years ago, I got my '91 Eliminator and it's been nuts ever since. All my XJ's are gone and I have 5 MJ's now....... it's a sickness...... :D

Yeah, your VIN inspection can range from a pretty lack-luster one to one where the inspector puts on a set of coveralls and gets down right dirty. Generally, our State Patrol guys look for 2 locations to confirm matching VIN's. Most DMV's I've dealt with look only at the visible one on the dash. Some of our MJ's have the VIN stamped in the firewall behind the coolant tank, many of them have a body tag on the firewall above the brake booster, some have a tag riveted to the front crossmember behind the bumper. All of them have the plastic door sticker but not many of those are even readable any more. You can take your chances swapping the dash (heck, the dash VIN tag is riveted to plastic, a heat gun will help pop it off without damaging the rivets), but if they find a different VIN using one of the stamped tags on the body...... you could get into significant trouble......

Must be nice to not have to worry about emissions inspections....... Gonna be cool!

It's not in Denver, it's in Grand Junction. The guy is REAL hard to pin down. Can't seem to make arrangements to have someone pick it up for me and he won't commit to if he'll provide the under-bed brackets to go with it. Said they are under his truck, but haven't been able to get him to say for sure "Yeah, I'll pull them and include them."

And it's gone. It was an Eliminator too. Hope an MJ enthusiast got it...... Called him today and he had a junk yard wanting it for $650 and someone else looking at it today for $675.....

My folks live down in Naples. I've convinced them to take a day trip up to Tampa and go give it a look over. I may end up with another MJ........ that I'd have to get home from Florida...... :doh: Except that it isn't a '91 or '92....... it's exactly what I'm looking for for my Archer-esque race truck. 2WD stick short bed. Hopefully the floors aren't too rotten, but for what I have planned I really don't need a nice truck, just one with straight panels. A junk interior is just fine and I have lots of MJ glass laying around in my parts horde......... Heck, the back window could be done in Plexiglass for what I've got planned.....

Parts for MJ's aren't hard to find. What are you talking about??? Anytime I need something I just go to my 24'x40' storage lot and dig around. I swear, you put a few parts in, leave 'em alone in the dark for a while and they multiply. I can barely walk around in there now........ :D

Apparently it's been sold! Wonder who got it????? I am getting paid for a Cherokee I had for sale tomorrow...... I was gonna fly up there and grab it........ someone saved me from myself! WHEEW. :D

For a clean, rust-free last year Eliminator...... I don't think his price is too out of line. The paint condition and camo headliner don't help, but really, where are you going to find another with this kind of potential? If I didn't already have my '91 Eliminator, I'd be jonesin' for this one. $2800 is realistic, $2500 would be a steal........

Was a '91 Sportruck....... Located in the yard at Colorado Auto Parts & Salvage 4.0, 5-spd, D30, 4x4, shortbed, grey bench interior.
