  2. Pimping my own wares.......... http://comancheclub.com/topic/39564-pair-of-early-mj-chrome-frame-tail-lights-80-shipped/
  3. Already posted here..... http://comancheclub.com/topic/39059-comanche-dually-westminster-md/?hl=dually But yeah...... Serious case of want......
  4. Probably from the Oregon Tourism Board. It's a fresh air sample. If you like it they'll set you up with regular shipments and give you valuable coupons to visit Oregon. :D
  5. The photos show that truck has a set of CA license plates......... contact the person registered to those plates and offer to pay them to apply for a replacement title, then sign it over to you. Once you've secured that agreement, get go buy it and get a bill of sale from the guy that has it now (assuming those plates aren't from when he last registered it)...... but if that's the seller's registration, I don't see why he couldn't go get a replacement title.
  6. In Colorado, the easiest process is to attempt to find the last registered owner and ask them to apply for a replacement title. Hopefully the vehicle you're interested in was last registered by the person selling it. It really is an easy, under $20 process for them to get a replacement title. They just need to walk into their local DMV with an old registration, expired license plates or the like. It's still possible to bond for title on a car with no title......... but it is a very time consuming, paper trail involved process and the amount of the bond depends upon a certified apprasial of the vehicle. It can't appraise for less than $500 and of course, the bond amount will be 10%-15% of the appraised value...... a portion of which will be the fee for posting the bond. The title search process can be a b*@$£ if the car wasn't last registered in Colorado. I had an '03 Caddy CTS that literally was given to me because the property owner where it was parked was selling the property and needed it gone - nice little runner/driver that had been parked for 5 years because of a "lost" Nevada title. I tried the Colorado title bond process and found it had a lien on it in Florida. Having no way to find out how to handle it from there, I hired one of those title services "GetNewTitle.com". They provided me with the lien info. I contacted the lien holding bank and they were nice enough to release the lien and sent me the necessary letter. I submitted that letter to GetNewTitle and then they discovered the vehicle was actually never owned by the family that gave it to me. It was the property of a lady that got divorced from a brother of that family...... and she was now living in another country .... with the title in her name. I had paid $900 for the title service and had to fight to get $500 of that refunded since they couldn't live up to their "guaranteed title" claim. I ended up selling that damn Caddy to a guy with a friend who own's a tow company. All he had to do was "abandon" the car, and have it towed by his friend. His friend then applied for the title as tow companies can when towed cars go unclaimed after 30 days......... and now he has a nice, crisp Colorado title......... grrrr. So yeah, lost title processes are rediculous these days.
  7. Yeah, don't butcher those black panels. I just grabbed a junker '93 XJ with gray panels in good shape. Cannibalize these for backer boards or clean 'em up and dye spray them. Freebie for ya.
  8. Wish I had a nice pair of door panels for ya Bob........ Gawd I swear if it weren't for bad luck you'd have no luck at all.
  9. Putting the word out, hoping my luck is still on the good side! (Just finding these damn things was huge luck in itself.... ) I need a set of dually fenders brought from SoCal (Long Beach area) to Denver. Anyone making that trip? Anyone know of someone like a trucker that has a regular route like this? Just searching for options rather than trying to ship these large things....... Any help or info please PM me. Thanks in advance!
  10. Are we to assume you have warning lights in the dash and not gauges? If it's getting hot and your temp light isn't going on, this is something you'll definitely want to address sooner than later. Generally speaking, it's the result of that expansion tank on the firewall developing cracks and not holding pressure - which the cooling system needs to function properly. No pressure means it'll over heat and bubble up all hot and angry like that. But other things with the cooling system can also cause this - leaking radiator, bad hoses, stuck thermostat, inoperable fan clutch or auxilary elect. fan......... best to get with a club member to look at it, or take it to the mechanic's shop. I'd strongly urge you to also have the temperature sensor replaced as a matter of maintenance so you have piece of mind that the sensor and warning light are functioning properly.

    Garbage?

Lemme just say that today......... Lurch made me happier than Rain Man with 6 fish sticks on a Wednesday.......... Now....... to figure out the best way to get them..... lol. Anyone know a trucker that makes a SoCal run that goes through Denver????
  12. Oh, and the hood vents on H3RESQ's rig are the very commonly used Chrysler LeBaron hood vents. Taken from mid 80's Turbo LeBarons...... the ones that look like Aries K cars.......
  13. As I recall, that Reflexion hood was originally made to fit right hand drive XJ's and there are no wiper issues with those vehicles. It's when got marketed to the US that the issue became known....... and by then, production was very near the end. Pretty sure that Marcus "gojeep" in Australia bought that hood and had no issues on his right hand drive rig. I think in a thread he started on his website, he had an American figure out that the wiper arm from the late model ('97+) XJ's interferes less than the earlier ones. :dunno:
  14. Sorry to hyjack the thread......... But here is a link to the story behind the '46 Olds in my garage: http://www.naxja.org/forum/showpost.php?p=244163032&postcount=4 Here's a pic from the last time she was roadworthy. Unfortunately, brake hydraulics, radiator and knee-action shocks are all blown..... and the engine lost a valve retainer so she sits until I can do what I have planned.....

    Garbage?

Just put the word out to my NAXJA peeps in SoCal.......... SO hoping someone is willing to pull those fenders and ship them to me......... Such a shame....... straight, rust free CA truck....... and a dually. Why, why, why!!!!!!
  16. Sold it to someone who wasn't concerned about the fit.
  17. Those are the "Dominator" hood......... absolute crap. I had one....... it was 3/4" too short and 1/2" too narrow. Fit was terrible. The hood arc was way off in relation to the tops of the fenders. Front corners were high, not enough arc across to keep it level with the header panel in any adjustment combination.
  18. Who's your vendor for leaf packs? I used to be in the business...... wondering who you're dealing with. I'm in the market for rear leaf packs and want to support your business.
  19. It ain't trail worthy. The good axles were taken by the previous owner along with the tires/wheels. It's currently being stripped of the bumpers/sliders for another project and it's sitting on bald tires and stock axles with no rear driveshaft or shocks.
  20. Meh........ coulda saved himself a bunch of saw blades, cut off wheels and welding wire and just lifted a Liberty.
  21. Good gawd..... Who gets up before 10am on a Sunday?..........lol. Can't do a run..... I don't have a trail worthy MJ. Do a trail run before a late afternoon meet & greet?
  22. Troy. Littleton. (2) '91 black 4x4 5 speed Eliminators '91 white 4x4 5 speed SWB Sport Truck '90 black 4x4 5 speed Eliminator Long bed MJ trailer. We SERIOUSLY need to do a meet & greet. Maybe when Bob gets Bucky put back together.... Like an unveiling of sorts.....
  23. Yep, that added a few more. http://denver.craigslist.org/search/cto?zoomToPosting=&query=comanche&catAbb=cta&srchType=A&minAsk=&maxAsk= The Comanches are getting a bit more popular around here....... seems folks are dragging them out of back yards and garages to get 'em sold. Dealerships keep putting $3K-$5K price tags on 'em...... A dealership in CO. Springs had a pair of semi-restored '87-'90 Metric Ton MJ's on the lot, both for just over $3K each. http://cars.smartcarguide.com/jeep-comanche-Colorado The light blue one looked good at 20 feet but was full of bondo on the pass. side and the floor boards were "repaired" with aluminum street signs. Had goofy baby blue racing seats in it too...... The dark blue one wasn't bad, but not anywhere near worthy of the asking price......... although....... they did sell.
  24. Yep. They're a metric thread (sorry, don't know the specifics). Went to Home Depot and used the thread pitch gauges they have there to find the right bolts. I've replaced those torx head bolts in favor of traditional bolts on the removeable door mods I've done.
  25. I disagree. VERY worth the asking if a nice MJ is what you're looking for. Impossible to restore one to that condition for $6K. Not to mention it's a rare '91 4x4 auto with A/C. $5K would be well bought.
