mine were inverted torx bolts. I swear. Not even 12 pt sockets would take them off, I had to go out and buy the flipping socket that fit it. my XJ had two 15mm bolts. But the MJ was different. Granted I also have the 2.5l. I also had to take off a few other parts like some metal piece that holds the down pipe.

cut it out and weld in another panel. no biggie

yea, they make some good stuff now, their rifles are as light as the pistols, amazing. The out of the box quality has gotten much better. I am looking into a PF9 right now. With a good fluff and buff on the ramp and port they are great. The PF9 is supposed to be good for continuous +p usage.

and keep my "unmentionables" in an overhead pocket :clapping: Thats a pretty darn good idea actully... If you had a line of those pockets right along the front of the headliner it would be great. Should be able to hold your sunglasses, garage door opener, lighter, kel-tec, ect very well.

I was wondering about the LS1 F-body style long tubes. It seems like one of the main problems with these motor swaps comes down to getting a header that fits. But The SLP long tubes could not have fit any close to the block on my camaro, so maybe this swap would be easier than a strait 350 swap. What is he doing for gauges, and what transmission is he running. I am assuming that it is not a T-56. Other than that it looks great. This has been on my list of things to do for some time. In fact, when I had said camaro I was always kind of hoping that someone would hit it hard enough to total loss it so I could snatch the drivetrain and electronics.

no, you want a 1991 or later. You should have a 23 spline tcase, while the older ones from the renix era are 21 spline. So any newer t-case from a jeep cherokee will work.

how did you go about ordering the parts? We built up a few group buys here, was wondering how you went about it.

That would be my choice for a junkyard box, too -- if the spline for the pitman arm is the same. That should have the quick ratio, and the spool valve (the "module" to which someone referrered above) should be the one that provides less boost & better road feel. we had it in my buddies cherokee, but we took it out when the pitman seal started leaking. I will just change out the seals and call it done. It worked fine, and his pitman fit right on.

I am going to put a GM box into mine when I get power steering swapped in. It is the "Z" box from a formula trans am. Should turn in a tighter pattern and be better for the road work I intend to set this up for.

a 231J is the new version with the different tail cone. It uses the Cheaper hack and tap kits. A 1995 booster will work, I have on in my cherokee. In fact I thought you were supposed to use the 1995 A buddy of mine told me that Jeep seatbelts are strange critters and you can only used matched sets. There is no guarantee that any two seat belt pieces will mate other than the two issued together from the factory patience grasshopper

1991, I parted out a 1990 a while back and it had the GM locks.

I just fixed my wifes Ipod. She has one of the OLD 20GB ipods with the thick case and the green screen (2nd Gen I think). That thing is a trooper. It has been thrown and dropped, it runs in her car constantly (driven by head unit). It froze up on her the other day while she was already having a bad day so she flung it at the wall, the second time she did it the case broke open. I will be damned if after I put it back together it doesn't run just fine. It is 7 years old, and I think we may be able to get a decade out of it if we try. The new ones are good but they do not last as long from what I am told.

I am not sure if the entire column changes, but at least the locks do at 1991. They go to the Chrysler style locks instead of the GM

sweet, I was looking at the spray guy at O'Reilly's. Figured it would be worth a shot. Neighbor has a compressor, I couldn't justify dragging mine down to florida when I PCSed here. Just gonna have to set up some drops and find an area of the parking lot where no one parks. I live in base housing in a cul-de-sac so I got to be a little careful. How high does it float when spraying. Overspray wise I mean. I figure it should be pretty heavy and not drift too far.

I pulled my plastic bedliner today to clean under it and start prepping for a roll in bedliner. It has probably been in there for 10 years. The bed looked fine. Some wear spots for sure, but ok overall. I will probably coat it with a roll in, then put the plastic back. I would run a strip of thin sealant foam around the underside where it hits the bed rails to keep it off those, or just paint it. I put mine back today after i was done cleaning. There was definatly a LOT of dirt and sand in there. but that is going to happen, and i have no way of knowing if it was in there before they put the liner in. If the price is good grab one. You may not get another chance.

advance sells them new for cheap. I really like the dynomax super turbo's. The also sell a chambered muffler for I think around $25 that sounds great on a 4.0.

hmm, I would not have thought that they would be that much different. I still suspect that if I can find some newer model XJs at the yard with a 2.5 the brackets would swap. I am not sure that anything changed with the block. We shall have to see.

good to hear she is doing ok. Cat bites are nasty. My cat bit my when I was getting ready to leave and PCS to P-cola. To his credit I was trying to crab a Benadryll down his throat so he would sleep the whole way. My hand hurt and was sore for about a week. Swelled up a little on the bite marks.

I know all about it. My compressor is crap. So if I am going to upgrade to 134 I might as well grab a new style compressor while I am at it. Also, 134 runs at a higher pressure than r12. I will be replacing everything (in the bay at least), lines included. The retrofit kits are great, I have used them a few times with good results. I have never evacuated the system (time/money), and the kits have always gone on empty systems anyway. Turns out fine. The kits are supposed to have an enzyme that breaks down R12 so it does not contaminate the 134.

I think the power steering is the same. Mine already has the bracket with an idler there. For the AC i think it may be a bit different. I know that it looks different than the HO that is in my cherokee, but the brakets may very well bolt up the the block in the same way. I was going to try it out this spring when I get the chance to pull some from the yard. I need a new AC comp anyway and was going ot try to pull the one off a newer XJ and switch to R-134A.

use one of those hotel blankets, you know the ones that are under the comforter. Nice and pimpish
