what about velour?

for a little more coin there are some Monroe "Reflex" shocks that my boss loved on his truck. They are supposed to still ride great but they have much better roll control from what he said. I used the sensatracs cause they were free from a buddy and only had about 2k miles on them. When I replace again I will go with the Reflexes.

all 4 of mine are from a cherokee, granted I used the cherokee shackles in back so the rears are OK at worst. I also just pulled the bushings from my old rears and put them on the new ones. perfect fit now.

I really like my monroe sensatracs. If you want any kind of ride quality you want a gas charged shock instead of one of the offroad type shocks. My cherokee has rancho rs3000 shocks. They help roll very well but are not the most comfortable in the world.

me and Jose don't play together anymore. never tried the expensive stuff, but I have had enough of his normal label to not try anymore. BTW: did anyone know that Aristocrat makes Tequila, or at least something in a tequila bottle? Yes, another time in college that I will not repeat.

It is pretty good. I usually roll with Petron for shots and depending on the mood either the same or Jimmy Buffett Margaretaville for margarettas. But my drinking has fallen off here lately.

just to clarify, you WILL have to cut those V8zj coils. Otherwise you will see about a 1in lift. I was planning on taking about 1.3 turns off of a set of coils I have from a 2000 xj. You would need to take more off the ZJ coils.

nope, it is only a few keystrokes in the computer. Anyone who bought a motor or tranny got one to try and help the sale. If you want to make it tax free you have to bring in the documentation, but other than that any assistant manager can set it up. The NCSU zoology had an account, as well as the Fire Dept, Engineering Dept at school, and a group of students that called ourselves wolfpack automotive.

my stroker picked up mileage. went from an average of 15mpg to 18mpg. That is turning 33's on 3.55 gears. It should at the very least increase in town mileage. Of the several other people I know who have built one only one is getting no mileage gains. With the increase in torque and the same weight, plus you are generally moving the torqueband down; it should pick up a few MPG at the least every time.

I really like the fact that they give 10% for active or retired military. :thumbsup: probably not. You really have to spend a lot to get that corporate thing to work well. Couple grand a week minimum. And the military discount is a new thing. They did not use to do it at all. If we did it it was because the individual team member thought it was worth their job to risk it. Granted, I knew that company needed me more than I needed them so I gave it a lot, firemen and cops too.

when I worked there the discount was on everything, unless your corporate account locked items. Another plus is that commercial accounts get huge discounts on some common parts. When I worked there the commercial price for any shop on any amount of spending on CV axles was $35, they usually run $65. There is also a commercial buy of the month and they can get some crazy discounts on other stuff as well. Whatever you do, do not go in there and swagger, talking about your account and how you get an auto discount, the parts guy will just mess with you, and you look like a tool.

I just looked, it is a yellow sanding sponge and 320 grit. I got it and my other one mixed up. Still not 1000 though. Only light sanding is typically needed.

you found the first post on ebay, I am sure there are other pictures right below... I also like gloss black and color matched. It really comes down to what color grill you have and the color combo of the rest of the truck. I am planning of painting the 2500 stuff I have coming red and making the inserts and painting them gloss black. If you are making your own then painting them you can either use expanded metal which is a bit tough to work with, or advance sells the stuff ricers use for about 10 bucks, at least they used to.

grills upside down in the picture. I know a few people with those on later model front ends and they have no problems. If nothing else it might give you an excuse to upgrade the radiator right? I think the billet and gunmetal ones look better than the chrome ones.

the 2000 engine will work fine, just use the block. I would consider keeping your head, use its intake manifold, your throttlebody and injectors. Yes it is set up for OBD2 and no dizzy ignition. But the hole for the dizzy is still there, it just has a cam sensor in it. Pull the sensor and slide in your dizzy. If you use your head you will be better off, the newer ones are prone to cracking. Clean it up and roll. Use a new set of good gaskets. I think you also will want to swap your t-stat housing over as well. If you use the newer intake, be sure to bring that PS setup over as well, then you can lookup the newer cherokee belt routing and run that, I like it better anyway. Save your timing cover as well as all the pieces inside, if you want to upgrade your cam later, your options are limited with that year, so you will want the pieces to be able to use the older style cam retaining setup. I tore through about 5 motors doing my stroker, and pieces of all made it into the build. None were the same year.

My XJ has a procomp 3.5in front lift that I am very happy with. I think the rear leaves are Rancho full packs. Over all I like it. It has not sagged much at all, it might have settled 1/4in in about 7 years. I did not flog it much, but it did get a few beatings. It was my DD so I had to take it easy.

I made one drive wheel, as big as the spring could still begin to turn. It does not need to be fast. You can also make the lever arm longer letting you have more string distance to drive it. If the trap springs too quickly it will spin out the wheel and you lose distance.

Advance Auto sells he redi mixed duplicolors. I have seen some excellent results with them, and they have some nice colors. I have 3 gallons of their normal (need to thin) paint at home in "racing red" to repaint the truck with once I get all the 2500 parts and a new hood, body work ect. It used to be 4 gallons when I worked at advance, but busted during shipping and covered the other 3 in paint so they had to be defected out. SCORE. PS my dad painted his car with a HVLP harbor freight air setup. no tank, I swear it ran on a fan motor through a corrugated hose. Turned out fine. \then he airbrushed flames \\turned out great \\\its a chrysler sebring with spinner hubcaps

yea, I wish I had access to a rotary and an indoor area to do a good polish, I think most of the peel would come out, I may try it by hand with an actual polishing or rubbing compound to see what happens. The thing that helped me the most was that I used to have a gloss black camaro. If you can learn to do black without screwing it up you are good to go. As far as the trim goes, usually I do not have a problem with wax, it sucks to get polish or rubbing compound on there though. And Hornbrod, if you thought I have too much time now. I graduate API on Friday and will have nothing but a checkin 3 days a week so they know I am alive. I probably will not class up to the wing for about 2 months. It kinda sucks, since I would rather be gettin' my learn on in flight school, but I am looking at it like paid vacation without having to take leave.

I used a set of cherokee shackles in the back for an easy little drop. I traded my MJ ones for a set of WJ control arms. I will be using small blocks and cutting a section of coil from up front. Thicker swaybar and add one in the back. Upgrade the brakes and call it a day. I am just looking for a nice sport truck though, not wanting to drop it all the way on its nuts.
