  1. new pics or it isn't happening
  2. it was a piece some trucks have between the airbox and hose. None of mine have ever had it, some do though. It restricts air flow a good bit
  3. If it is on a cherokee or comanche it is a waste of time. You can build a heat shield to separate the filter from the hot exhaust manifold to make it a little better, but not really worth the time. I took the home made setup I had on my stroker OFF, with no noticeable change in power. Even with a Pro built kit, the most you are looking at is about 3HP. I would leave the stock airbox on, put a flat panel K&N in, and leave it at that. The box will also go a long ways in stopping a potential hydrolocking. If your box has the venturi piece in it, you can remove that for a bit of a gain as well.
  4. the only jeep models made were either wrangler types or grand cherokees. I have not ever seen a kit model Cherokee or Comanche, and I sent quite a bit of time looking. Matchbox cherokees are the closest thing
  5. how had was it to find the 2 door buttons?
  6. I want some to stiffen up the ride on my commanche. WJ arms with a thicker swaybar and poly bushings should be pretty nice.
  7. I total cost built mine for right at $1600 -junkyard block - $60 -Machine work (bore, hone, cam bearings, hot wash, and pressure test) with pistons - $500ish -Crank - $200 new -rods - $125 reconditioned, shot peened ect -misc engine parts (water pump, oil pump, timing set, ect) - $200 -2000 intake - $25 -injectors - $50 - used LT1 injectors from a camaro -oil, fluids, ect - ? I have the reciepts in P-cola I will have a look at them when I get home from the holiday. It can be done for much less that you think without skipping steps. I reused my stock cam since it was the 1991 HO cam. Boss did a three angle and lapped the valves on the old head, he also re-seated and shimmed ll the springs and checked the head to be level, for free. I think some of those values are off, but the total build was right at that price, I will make a spread sheet when I get home and post it. $1600 went from the blown motor to a running driving jeep.
  8. I want to turbo mine, I was gonna remote mount it under the bed, just no time to worry about it at the moment. t3/t4 hybrid should do well, you will need a timing retard setup(msd or the like) and a vacuum variable fuel pressure adjustment to manage fuel if you do not go to a new computer setup, I think holly makes one that is pretty good. I want to megasquirt mine first, then add the boost so I can control timing and fuel easier.
  9. the rears are inboard to help with turning, it helps the rear track inside the front and tighten up the radius, but I doubt if you will notice too much of a difference.
  10. bleed the system, boil the Tstat. I have had nothing but good luck with the superstats, I actually recommend them, but you may have gotten a bum one, or could you have installed it backwards?
  11. nitrous wet shot. can be done relatively inexpensively, is fun, and if you fawk it up should be pretty fun to watch if you record it. Wet shot for sure though, without a maf it is too easy to screw up a dry system. 100hp shot should be ok stock, past that you are asking for trouble. I am thinking about it for my stroker, I want to modify a TB spacer with a couple of nozzles. Strokers are good. KB or Avenger supercharger CAI is close to worthless, to get ANY gain you will need to box in the area to keep the heat out. http://www.jeep4.0performance.4mg.com/index.html - Dino's Page, some great info there

  13. I tip depending on the delivery time. I have had a delivery guy sarcastically tell me "Thanks for the Tip" when he did not get one. So I said "Thanks for taking 1.5hr when your manager said 30min over the phone". The guy had been sitting outside my apartment on the phone in his car for well over 30 min. I fully understand that the delivery guy is not in complete control of what time he gets there, but this guy had the power to make it at least 30min faster... To Insure Promptness - that is the basis I tip on, and I usually tip pretty well.
  14. I have one I could not give away. The paint is fine under it, save for one small spot on a rail. What I do not like about it is there are no tie down points in it.
  15. light tap or 17 on the side with a set punch and mallet with get it off. as long as you are going perpendicular to the glass you should be fine. Heat gun may work too
  16. no offense, but I am gonna assume that you mean a 2 hand curl. No way 1 handed is gonna happen. It weighs 175 or so easily, probably 200. I can bench close to 300, and I was not real happy to be moving that block when I had to pick it up and put it into the back of my suburban, then pick it up again to get it into the shop. I thought the crank was heavy, but the block was worse.
  17. Novak listed it as 550lb when comparing it to other motors. It is on their webpage in the knowledge base portion.
  18. The guy that had that done is getting a new one torn into him by pirate4x4. He did not pay the guy who did it, then lied saying he was in the hospital, now he just will not talk. Before the thread got closed he had singles pages on every tranny/ghey site you could imagine, and he is being drug around on every car forum out there. On top of all that, he came on another forum and started claiming that he was the one who did all the work, then changed his story and said that he paid and paypal must have screwed it up.
  19. it would be better to not type with caps lock on. If you got a newer donor vehicle you could just swap everything, wiring harness and accessories included.
  20. I hate beer in cans. Bottles or draft
  21. walmart sells the mounting kit for $10. Fits to the 2 stock holes in the dash, that way the bezel can come off
  22. with a good 3 core rad you might be ok. I have a heatbuster from advance that keeps my Stroker very cold. I went back to a 195 thermo and keep my fans off most of the time to keep it up to temp.
  23. My friend built a YJ with a 4bt turbo in it. Had twin 60's, and I am not sure what trans he ended up using. Some guy bought it from him on sight in a parking lot for like 15k. It looked like a factory install.
  24. It is not adjustable on my ho. I turned the dizzy around like 30deg with no result. The computer can compensate for a lot.
  25. because water is a normal product of combustion. Either that or your head gasket is bad...
