  1. i like the soft topper, is it meant for a comanche or does it fit something else.
  2. and actually, I believe it should be much harder to pass ANY law. It should be very easy to say no, and very hard to say yes and pass any bill. This would ensure that the bulk of the country is behind it. Requiring more people to say yes in order for it to pass would get you past some of the deal making in congress I think.
  3. I agree to a point, but I'm curious what oath that would be? The Military one that says "protect against all enemies, foreign and domestic?" If so, could not the President become an enemy of the US after being elected? Don't get me wrong, I don't think President Obama is our enemy, but something to think about. That oath is not to any one man. I disagree. I think that only citizens should be allowed to vote and our laws have always supported that concept. If you want to vote here, become a naturalized citizen. The shame is that half of the people who COULD vote here, do not take the time to do so. As the law stands now, only citizens are allowed to vote. Get enough people to say otherwise who are also citizens, and we could change it. That's one nice thing about the US, that we can change the laws if enough citizens want to (at least in theory, getting it done is another thing). I am currently looking for the annotated copy I just bought, but I believe that changing that would require a constitutional amendment. I am pretty sure that who, when, and how are all part of the constitution. Not that it cannot be changed, it just got much harder to do.
  4. it was already separated. The lens was held on by the two side screws. After I cleaned it all up I actually only glued it with a good RTV, wanted something I know would keep most of the water out. So separating it later should not be too much of a problem if I am careful. The other side looks to have separated slightly as well so I am hoping that I can get it apart. I don't use the LED bulbs. I got some for a motorcycle I used to have. Popped them in and stood back, the old bulbs were brighter. So I swapped them back out. May have just been a motorcycle thing, but you could not see them as well. COuld have been the bulbs too I suppose, they were off the shelf from advance.
  5. I did not know this, and I wish you had said something before I glued them back together... I had the lens off to buff it. Hit it with fine sandpaper till it had a uniform appearance, then nailed it with Mguires Plastix. It looks damn near new now. Now I just need to pull the other one and do it. But I am hoping to find a good left taillight since it has a chip in the very edge. Not into the light really, just on the edge. This method cleaned them up very well. Just don't go too hard with the sandpaper, just hard enough to take the fog out.
  6. they could be made to fit flush. When I ever get around to it I am gonna chop up the hood of a trans am to get the areas where these mount then weld those into the XJ's hood.
  7. forgot to post a picture. These are the front vents from a 3rd gen Trans AM. I want to get my hands on a set of rear ones with the surrounding sheet metal, weld them into the hood.
  8. I put mine toward the front of the hood since that is where you get a lifting force in the air currents. If you look at gojeeps site it is shown to be at speeds less than 30. Having them up front also helps pull the hot air behind the radiator out through convection.
  9. I have never had a problem with my hood vents. Ever. People are willing to throw their jeeps through rivers up to the windows, and submerge them in mud over the hood, but they worry about water in the engine compartment from rain (not necessarily about you 702).
  10. one of the outer lenses is soaking in hot soapy water right now. See how clean it can get
  11. yea, but I get lazy streaks, so they may just get coated. Still want to get an idea of what it will look like before I do it. Niteshade can be some tough stuff to get looking right.
  12. Anyone blacked out the tails on the MJ? I am trying to change the look just a bit. Mine were separating anyway so I took them off and I am cleaning them real well, using some plastic polish on them. As I look at them, I think I could make them into a smooth look pretty easily by back filling the mold from the back then sanding and polishing the front smooth. Then I could niteshade, wet sand, and clear coat them and have a newer look. But what would black outs look like to begin with? Keep in mind I am going more for the street look.
  13. I live on base, and pretty much in the same type of housing as enlisted. The JO housing is separated from the enlisted stuff by a street, it is in the same subdivision. Nice 2 bdrm 1.5bath fenced in backyard. Are you married/have kids. If so I recommend base housing at first just to give you and your dependents a good support network right after the move. If not instead of the apartment I would hit the craigslist housing area. There are a million rental properties in this area, and you can get some awesome deals for 700 or so a month. Me and the wife are looking to move possibly soon. We found a 3Bedroom 2 bathroom house with hardwood and tile throughout for 800 a month. New windows and heat/air. It is right near the bay next to a park. You can also find waterfront stuff for not much more than that if that is your thing. but no, I have never seen the Fairfield Villas. I will tell you that some parts of fairfield are pretty ghetto. IE the juvenile jail is near there, lots of pawn shops and liqour stores. SE next to the bay is nice, parts of the Navy Point area are great, and lots of great areas out the back gate in gulf breeze and heading towards perdido key. If you get much above fairfield and past 9th you start getting into a decent commute.
  14. Nah, it is the Freemasons. Not a religious group really. best way would be to call it a fraternity with the intent of advancing the fellowship of man. They do lots of charity work as well. A lot of people I know and respect are Masons, just figured I would ask on here and see if anyone was involved.
  15. I submitted my application to the Brethren on Monday. Barring any dissenting votes I will be taking the course on the 6th/7th of March. Was just wondering if anyone on here was in. I am always interested to learn who might be.
  16. I agree. Glad you are here legally, but voting is a right reserved for citizens, I have 3 friends who have gone though the process, and none have any regrets. Granted there are a lot of rights that the legislature seems bound and determined to extend to extend to people here illegally or who are citizens of another country living in that country. Ex: there have been a few cases where a lawsuit was brought by an illegal immigrant, thrown out thank god but still disputed by people who said they have a right to the usage of the legal system. There is also a case where a gitmo detainee, never a citizen, living in Pakistan is examining suing the federal government, a lawyer in DC is considering his case for him...
  17. who cares if it will. It will not surprise me that the dealer comes back with a solid "We don't know". Run the ax5 till it breaks, then put a SM425 or a built AX15 in.
  18. you don't need the MS sure. I just want one anyway since it looks cool and there are a million little things you can do to it. The newish touch screen control module/display looks very interesting.
  19. a t3/t4 hybrid would be great. remote mount it under the bed. They I would get a stand alone computer system such as Megasquirt and install it so you would have complete computer controlling.
  20. stop being lazy shelby
  21. glad to hear about the windshield trim bit. I have been trying to figure out if I can switch to the new style trim eventually.
  22. Blhtaz feel like doing 2 more?
  23. I had to break out my uniform sweater instead of the lightweight jacket the other day, it was that cold. Easily 38 out. Jeeze. Ok, just kidding. I did wear the sweater though, It looks better. Glad I don't live where it gets that cold.
  24. there is not one that I know of. It probably just sucks form all the compression loss
