  1. about 11-12 on hard days. 12 to 13 on medium days and 13 to 15 if I'm going up for a dirt road cruise. that's filling up, driving the 5,000 vertical feet up the mountain. wheeling all day, and driving down and topping off. to many variables to accurately track it so i just kept an eye on the guage and topped off with my jerry can before heading down if needed.
  2. The LJ is just a series name. the differentiation will be in the wheel base length stamped on the door tag and in the VIN id.
  3. physics. i .e. gearing, weight distribution, traction, and the right speed to drop over the top. that sandstone has insane amounts of traction.
  4. i did forget about those. well, the side tie-in does hit the cab mount, but it can be trimmed in about 2 minutes per side with a cut off wheel. i havent installed my tie-ins yet, but on the other MJ I did, it wasnt much of an issue. quick slice and dice and the tie-ins fit.
  5. looks like your off to a good start. how fast was the shipping on that rusty's stuff. I'm really on the fence about those 4" leaves.
  6. Dirt Bound and KrustyBaller are the only ones i know of. Oh yea and the nates4x4 that i won't ever touch again.
  7. The "sub frame" under the cab is the same as the cherokee. Only difference, is the brake lines and fuel lines are in a different location. it bolted right up. i just had to move some of the brake lines and secure them up out of the way. all in all, maybe an hour install for the crossmember. i still have to install the side tie-in brackets, but that won't take long. just a matter of drilling a couple holes.

  9. Well another development, i got in to drive it the other day, and my driver door jsut stuck shut. The latch assembly must have wore out from the inside. So i spent 3 days trying to open it, when i finally found this tip........On the backside of the latch assembly, there is a tab you have to push up....it manually dis enages the striker latch...... Door saved. now i jsut have to put a new latch in there.

  13. Ive started following a guy on one of the facebook pages. he is building a camper body on his comanche from scratch. It will be interesting to see how it comes together.

  15. Well i spent the last 2 days with a sawzall trimming off the stock LCA brackets so that i could actually drive it. Was finally able to drive it to work this morning under its own weight. All i can say is wow, the ride quality is amazing. it feels much more stable on the road. I still have to install the side tie-ins, but i am debating just welding them on. As it sits now, i just have to install longer brake lines and shocks, and she will be ready to go. Pics tonight.
  16. I may have the electric door panels for you....... might get spendy to ship the regulators. Girlfriends 90 limited xj has power everything and she hates it. so I'm swapping over manual doors from a 94.
  17. Driveshaft and SYE first. you can always find the electric components. Plus factor in all the labor required to strip down the donor xj for part out, garage space taken up, complaining wife, etc.

  19. i need to do this on mine for the cav-fab 3 link. I'm just going to trim out the center section and fold them under. kind of like a burrito, and weld them closed to the unibody rail.
