We had a hail storm in sheridan a few years ago equivelant to that. It. did 14k in damage to my cummins. Insurance payed to repair it. 2 years later, got another hail storm. I was with a different insurance company....9k in hail damage...i fixed the major stuff, got a new windshield and new mirrors, new hood and fenders, and took the rest and payed off the truck. Now she has a few battle scars.

Rambler 6 a Lifetime Engine
WyoCherokee replied to texasjack's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
and why people have to LS Swap into xj's and MJ's simply confuses me. often just irritates me. Iget tired of these "ls swapped my MJ", "LS swapped my cherokee" "4.0 doesnt run right, so I'm just putting a V8 in there" threads. there is nothing wrong with a good running AMC/Chry 4.0L. Most folks will throw big tires on it, a ton or armor/bumpers, and never change the gears, then think the engine is gutless and then throw a big ugly boat anchor in an engine bay and front frame not made to handle the weight or torque of a V8. A properly geared, properly maintaned 4.0 is a torqy little engine! -
rear shocks for spring over
WyoCherokee replied to MuddFoot's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
If you did an SOA, then you got rid of the lower leaf cradles which had the shock mounts on them. You will either need to cut off those studs and figure out how to re-weld them back on to the axle, or get a set of weld on shock tabs, and weld them to your housing, then go flex it out and measure for shock length. You can get Bilsteins in just about any length needed. -
I feel for you man. I think you did the right thing to hep manage his pain to a toleable level. He will let you know when he is ready to go. I just had to put down my 14 year old English Pointer. She was my hunting buddy, a hell of a bird finder, and could hold down a rocking chair and take up a queen bed like nobodies business. She developed carcinoma and lung cancer and in a matter of 3 days went from retrieving roosters on friday to having to put her down on Monday when she could no longer breath and keep fluid out of her lungs.. She told us it was time to go. My theory has always been with my animals, to keep them comfortable to a point when their own quality of life suffers. and then it is time. I feel like it is foolish to let an animal suffer just so we can have more time with them. They will let us know when its time for them to go.

Project Patience....a 90 Eliminator trail build

Converted to an open cooling system from a 97 xj Yesterday. my Renix pressure bottle was leaking, and that fancy, spendy csf all aluminum radiator was leaking like a sieve. I just went to napa and got their direct swap for a 97 xj. Everything swapped right in as it should. Some 5/8's, 3/4, and 5/16's hose, 2 5/8 to 3/4 adapters and a overflow bottle and a stant 16lb cap. 2 gallons of DI water and 2 gallons of Concentrated coolant. 90 minutes tops and she was running drip free. Total cost was about $150 before my discount i believe. I already had the 97+ thermostat housing, so i did not need to get that. the Napa radiator contains the port for the renix temp switch. If you can change your coolant...you can do the swap. its pretty simple.- 132 replies

Load / Height Sensing Valve Delete / Bypass
WyoCherokee replied to SBpunk's topic in MJ Tech: DIY Projects and Write-Ups
I did find some 7/16 to 3/8's adaptors, but i would rather just use the existing nut right into the line: http://www.speedwaymotors.com/IFM-to-IFF-Adapters,6458.html -

hmmm. i will give this a shot. I hate reflaring brake lines. THe idea of using the existing 7/16 fitting entrigues me! Napa Link: https://www.napaonline.com/en/p/UBK38624?ref=Mg== -
What soft line did you use? kept the 7/16's fitting i assume?

Lift Install Question
WyoCherokee replied to JeepFanactic's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
When you lower the rig down, it will straighten out. Due to the radius arc motion of the arms, at full droop, the axle will swing backwards when hung fully suspended. -

500 miles of daily driving on the Cav-Fab Steering....i am impressed. no bumpsteer, no shimmy. A little loose, but i am attributing that to the lack of a stiff stabilizer.- 132 replies

The Comanche is a Unibody just like the Cherokee, aside from the "bed frame" that is just an extension of the unibody rails with crossbracing. Youl have to find a new comanche, or find someone who is a really good welder to make you a new rear frame. I'm assuming you bent the rear frame rails?

I took Pete's advice and started using imgur.com What a difference! Now posting pictures is fun. With photobucket, it was like going to the dentist for one picture. I'll check out them today. Spending the day in the garage cleaning reorganizing. I have a bit of OCD, and have to have a clean garage before I start a project.- 132 replies

I was pretty happy with my Skyjacker hydro 7000's. they were a tab soft on pavement, but were great for backroads.

WyoCherokee replied to WyoCherokee's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
Making room for movement with 33's on 4" and the 3-link. Gonna stay with the sleeper theme and stay low with droop. Some Fender Massaging. Need a new wire wheel and some paint to finish off the bare metal. Rubicon express track bar and frame brace....this is the second one ive installed, and the holes on the passenger side always need some massaging to fit. Anyone looking for a niche market? i know of only 2 companies that make these braces Steering box spacer and box brace are getting installed tonight! i need to find a good 5/8's bit or reamer before i can install the cav-fab crossover steering.- 132 replies
