Can Spell Comanche

Can Spell Comanche (2/11)

  1. Picked up a 8.8 that was soa with u bolt eliminators for a Comanche, 4.10s, 31 spline, disc brakes and lsd. And a 4.10 Dana 30. 400 bucks. They both need some love. And I gotta cut off mounts since it will go back to spring under. But not bad I must say. I also learned I need a new drivers side door seal pronto. I took s shower at the car wash and so did my interior it was so bad... I guess the road noise should have been my cue.
  2. What soft line did you use? kept the 7/16's fitting i assume? Whatever brake line part number I saw in the sticky section on here. I I had to put a new fitting on hard line to work since I changed it up when deleting load sensing valve
  3. I have axles to build next but unfortunately surgery is gonna halt progress for a couple months.... In the meantime I hated my rack city stance so I added 3/4 spacers to front. Then jcr finally shipped me my non-winch bumper. I decided to keep weight down and due to the 4.5 trees In the desert of Idaho I probably won't need one anyways
  4. I have only broken bleeders that have been installed for 15 years. I have never had a problem with speed bleeders and I have them for a long time. I also go thru and crack them open yearly so they don't freeze later. I don't find them to be a gimmick. They are cheap and just as good as normal bleeder screws in my opinion. But to each their own. 5. Speed bleeders. 10 bucks a set, easy one man job. Just crack open and pump brakes until your good to go Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Awww Comanche bros forevas [emoji7] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Thanks! Tonight decided to install my iron rock tie rod, all new ends and steering stabilizer. Wow my Jeep drives down the road like a normal vehicle again. Of course I love poser pics so why not another one.
  8. Update.... After rummaging threw my parts and using some stuff I got, the Comanche sits a little taller and has some new goodies. Still waiting on steering before it's back to being a daily driver again but I like the height. I may go to a 32 depending on if I want to run aftermarket flares or not. I just feel bad cutting this truck up.
  9. I can't believe you would do that to me.... it's cool I got my answer and glad I sparked some good conversation on a topic I didn't really find a ton of info on.
  10. I have been productive when time allows. Installed add a leafs, deleted the garbage load sensor valve and continuing to gather parts for the front. Still waiting on my axles but did order a jcr bumper! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I think this thread convinced me not to go soa. I think after I try multiple things I will still be to tall and not happy with the height I get. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I was thinking maybe trying to round up some 2wd xj spring to see where it puts me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. The 8.8 did yes. That's why I didn't want to hack it up for spring under. I The u bolt eliminators also provide lift so i think I'm gonna be hard pressed to keep this under 5 even using the xj leaves in place of.
  14. Bummer.... I was hoping I could maybe do a xj/mj hybrid and bring it down a inch or two. Maybe this axle will go for sale then Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. So I am scoring a 8.8 with 4.10s and disc brakes already soa ready for a Comanche with u bolt eliminators for very cheap. With that being said I figure this Will put me at 6 inches of lift unfortunately. I am trying to keep this rig at 4 to 4.5 inches if at all possible. I did some searching but figured I would get some first hand experience from anyone who has tried to stay as low as possible soa. Thanks! Worst case scenario i change it to spring under but it seemed handy it was already setup. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
