COMANCH3
I’m considering selling the MJ to pursue a CJ8 and wanted to get your advise on proper value, given that Kelley Blue Book and NADA will value it worthless. I know that the right buyer would pay what it’s truly worth and looking for your help. It’s an 89 SporTruck, 2.5 L, 2x4, short bed with a 144k miles on it. It has a 4-speed manual, no power steering, and is all original. The body is straight, no rust, runs strong, and has a small golf ball sized dent on the body near the rear bumper. I know a 2x4 with a 2.5 L is not desirable, but it’s still an MJ with potential. Thoughts?
Comanche SS
Depends where you live. Here in socal it would probably be around 2750-3000. Only because of the mileage, otherwise it's not the best options wise.Sent from my Pixel 5 using Tapatalk
89 MJ
In the rust belt, you could probably get $4,500-$7,000 for it, depending on your patience, if the paint is in good shape. Many of us up here would rather do a 4.0 and 4wd swap than deal with rust.

NHMJXJ
A description is good, but a picture tells a thousand words. Beyond that, location, condition and time will dictate what ya git. Good luck with the sale in any event!
Smokeyyank
Without pics hard to tell. The only thing going based on the description is no rust, but I'd want to see the floor boards. Rest of it isn't a desirable package. And would still take someone a couple grand if they wanted to get a 4.0 and few other options. If it's really clean I'd say 5k if not closer to 2-3k. Just depends.
Jlindsey86
Without pics I would put it around $4K.
dasbulliwagen
Haggerty classic car value guide shows $7200 in good condition, but doesnt ask your location. Hemmings shows them at around $17,000.00, but only compares ones theyve had listed before!!! NADA guides shows $3300-$10,300 depending on codition for a base model. ghetdjc320
I’d guess between 4-5k. I’ve bought and sold recently. All depends on desirability. 6 cyl 4wd swb are fetching quite a bit more but as you said, it’s still an MJ
Pete M
the only way to know for sure is to put it up for sale and see what happens. aim high if you'd like and then see what offers come in.

COMANCH3
My original thought was between $4,000-$6,000. It seems like the majority are throwing out the same range, which is helpful. Thanks for the input.
