  1. Finally got around to having my control arms swapped out with some new ones. It's amazing just how much more feeling I have of the front end now. This was long overdue, they are called control arms for a good reason!
  2. My hood has so many dents in it from sitting under a pecan tree for years that I have consistently been quoted $1000 to have them removed via PDR. On top of that it has cracked and peeling paint. My thought is that it would make sense to purchase a different hood that needs far less work, swap it onto the truck and then have it painted and blended into the quarter panels.
  3. Copy, I assume 97-01 XJ hoods are incompatible as well?
  4. Thanks Pete. A hood from any year model XJ should be a direct fit for any year model MJ right?
  5. Sounds good, hopefully it is still on their radar. On another note, anyone see any reason why this hood wouldn't be a direct bolt on replacement for my 92 Comanche? Summit tells me it is incompatible.
  6. Thank you, working hard to keep her that way!
  7. I spoke with Nathan at Phoenix Graphix this morning. He was not aware of any effort being made to bring the '91 and '92 "Pioneer" decals to production. I mentioned Comanche Club to him but he was unaware of any NOS decals being sent to Phoenix Graphixs.
  8. I will give Phoenix Graphics a shout tomorrow and see what the word is.
  9. Looking for help in regards to what side graphics came OEM with my Pioneer. She is a 1992 model with a build date of October 1991. There seems to be two different style "Pioneer" graphics offered at this time. The VIN is: 1J7FT36S4NL159747. The original owner remembers it having the same graphics as the red truck when it was new but wasn't sure of the color of the stripes.
  10. Got around to getting a few more projects accomplished. Finally replaced the o-rings in the oil filter adapter. I was pleasantly surprised to find that mine was held in with a hex head bolt rather than a torx. Wasn't a bad job other than being a little dirty. When I purchased my MJ it was missing its factory radio. Instead of trying to find the OEM, I went a different direction and decided that I would put together a period correct audio build that the original owner could have theoretically installed when the truck had originally been purchased. It took me over a year of searching but I finally found a NOS Pioneer headunit from 1992 and purchased it immediately! It looks right at home in the manche and sounds great! There will be more to come with the stereo build. To get ready for some upcoming body work I removed the pin stripping that the previous owner had put on the truck. I will be going with the oem style PIONEER side graphics.
  11. KYB Gas A just shocks are what a prefer. Excellent ride quality.
  12. That amp should serve your needs quite well also.
  13. Those tweeter pods are sweet, use them if you don't have vent windows in your doors. I used the factory tweeter location and don't have any complaints.
  14. Orion still makes excellent amps. I dig this 4 ch of theirs. I would recommend component speakers for your front stage. http://www.orioncaraudio.com/xtr-4-ch-with-crossover-/718-xtr5004.html
  15. Thanks, I was actually looking for a Dyna but when I saw this tucked away in a dark corner of the dealer I knew this was going to be the one. I appreciate the compliments.
  16. Thank you, the odometer is stuck at 131k but the reality is around 147k.
  17. I used a self etching primer followed by 5 coats of VHT wheel paint. I did not clear coat them. Looking forward I am going to have them media blasted, powder coated, followed by a low gloss clear.
  18. Well, 18 months after my resto rust is starting to appear on my wheels. At this point I am going to have them powder coated once my trailer hitch arrives. On a brighter note I rigged up a repair for my break release cable using a band clamp and some epoxy. It is nice not having to reach up under the dash to release the e brake!
  19. My 2007 Triumph America, carbureted 865cc. I dropped it an inch with progressive springs, upgraded the cush drive, sprockets, and chain. Drilled out the exhaust, replace the fork shrouds with gaiters. Had the brake discs powder coated, changed out the handlebars, mirrors, and put on a Dart fly screen. The last two pictures are the day I purchased the bike back in June of 2019.
  20. Such an amazing build! Cannot wait to see more.
  21. Anyone happen to know if Comanches sold in Texas were originally issued with regular passenger or "truck" license plates when new?
  22. Thanks for all the feedback. My plan is to purchase the bushings and have a shop replace them for me. It seems as polyethylene bushing kits are available but not so much full kits for rubber bushings. Are polyethylene that much better? My truck will retain its stock ride height.
  23. Is anyone aware if a full kit of rubber bushings for the MJ suspension exists? Trying to piece together all the bushings I need to do a full replacement.
  24. Oh man! I need this as well. Nice pickup!
