Muncher Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 Whats eveyones favorite jeep, Including other country models and concepts?
mjeff87 Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 J20. The end. Second place is a tie between the M715 and M1A1. For me anyways, YMMV. Definitely not a KJ, but they're good in their own way, lol.

Ive always loved 80s mjs xjs and the yjs but id also love to have a old willys truck or a cj2a or something
89 MJ Posted July 30, 2020 Posted July 30, 2020 I love the LJ. I hope to buy one when I sell my MJ. I really want a Electric Lime Green one with a manual.
Pete M Posted July 30, 2020 Posted July 30, 2020 not really but I wanted to share since I didn't know it was a thing until yesterday It's a runway dryer for I think the swedish airforce

Ive just always wondered why they chose a jeep fc cab to slap on top of it.
Pete M Posted July 30, 2020 Posted July 30, 2020 probably because it's small and enclosed and was lying around

87MJTIM Posted July 30, 2020 Posted July 30, 2020 CJs, especially the CJ8. I would like own a 2 or 3A some day.
derf Posted July 30, 2020 Posted July 30, 2020 I'd take an FC170. Or a 50s Willys pickup with a flathead Ford swap.
NHMJXJ Posted July 30, 2020 Posted July 30, 2020 My 99 2 door. It was pristine and some schmuk in an F150 ended it.
amsuco Posted July 30, 2020 Posted July 30, 2020 One of the old DJ5 postals for me. I like my Comanche, but I love my postal. The only thing more fun than driving an old "manual everything" jeep, is adding right-hand drive to the mix.

Pete M Posted July 31, 2020 Posted July 31, 2020 but seriously speaking, I'd trade all my MJs for a clean 715 with a modern v8 conversion.

Idk why they used a fc cab of all things, but it's definitely interesting.
Money_Pits Posted July 31, 2020 Posted July 31, 2020 Late model flat bed willys truck, big window version, not the little cab window, is my favorite, or a flatbed fc170 that purists and oil heads would murder me over for wanting it converted to electric and/or cng.
dasbulliwagen Posted July 31, 2020 Posted July 31, 2020 Ive also been in love with the M715 forever. Its probably the only thing Id give my Comanche up for. I also love the FC's, and any of the other SJ's (trucks or Wagoneer), and any of the Willys trucks and Wagons.

derf Posted July 31, 2020 Posted July 31, 2020 A 6BT is a tight fight under the hood in any full size Jeep (M715 included). It can fit, but you're millimeters away from the firewall and the radiator fan. And routing the intercooler is a challenge. It can be done but you have to know what you're doing and there isn't much room for error.
silvertwinkiehobo Posted July 31, 2020 Posted July 31, 2020 My friend Kyle dropped a 12 valve into a '73 Ford; yeah, it's tight, yeah, you have to play with the locations and routing, but it is doable.
derf Posted July 31, 2020 Posted July 31, 2020 I'm helping a friend do a 12v into an M715 this summer. It's an interesting adventure. The issue is that the engine bay in the SJ platform wasn't designed for really big engines. It was designed for the AMC straight 6, Buick small block, and AMC V8. Trying to fit big engines like a big block or long straight 6es like the Cummins and Ford 300 can be a challenge and may require sheet metal modifications.
