Red Mistress Posted October 25, 2019 Author Posted October 25, 2019 Took Comanche on nice outing, my daughter has been driving it trouble free every day so navigating the ruts and low water crossing with street tires were no big deal for her. Group traversed across private land following Trammels Trace, a North / South trail first used by Indians and then used by early pioneers such as David Crockett. Also visited a trappers cabin that shows up on maps in mid 1820’s & last Caddo Indian trading post that dissolved in winter of 1837. Really enjoying the Comanche !
Pete M Posted October 25, 2019 Posted October 25, 2019 I love a good leisurely trail ride any pics of the cabin?
Red Mistress Posted December 2, 2019 Author Posted December 2, 2019 Been super busy, bought another dealership inventory! i keep telling myself every time no more.... but this stash had pre-war Willys Overland porcelain signage :) Not much XJ / MJ parts, mostly Kaiser & CJ goodies. Mostly excited to find NOS windshield washer squirters!
Red Mistress Posted December 19, 2019 Author Posted December 19, 2019 COMANCHE is down working on leaky injectors & belt chirp. So thought make it look better in shop with:

Red Mistress Posted December 23, 2019 Author Posted December 23, 2019 Comanche is back up and running, although belt chirp came back in 15 miles of driving. new Gatorback belt and NOS idler pulley. Belt is so tight almost no deflection. All pulleys lined up perfectly. i can see movement in idler pulley so going replace the bushing. Where to find bushing? which orientation does the bushing go? is that correct bolt? Think they would of used a shoulder bolt. “THINK” ... I can see engine driven fan pulley wobble slightly when RPM’s at 3K.
Strokermjcomanche Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 Right bolt , the bushing flange faces the radiator. The busing comes with some aftermarket pulleys or find an NOS one .

Red Mistress Posted December 29, 2019 Author Posted December 29, 2019 One owner ... Super nice time capsule from private collection. I’m thrilled to be its new keeper :)
eaglescout526 Posted December 29, 2019 Posted December 29, 2019 Looks like the antenna pad needs to be replaced. But damn that is nice!
89 MJ Posted December 29, 2019 Posted December 29, 2019 19 hours ago, Red Mistress said: Comanche gets new friend :) So, build thread?...
Red Mistress Posted December 30, 2019 Author Posted December 30, 2019 Not much of a build for this survivor... more like take it back to original. 1. Carefully remove vent shades without messing up door decals. Thinking dental floss and WD40 for adhesive. 2. Correct splash guards (Have rear black with white lettered Jeep). Need front. Thinking about making better with factory parts. A. NOS full Black console (already have) B. Receiver hitch & wiring (Left NOS one with Jeep SE decal months ago) unobtanium will be black front / rear floor mats. anyone know if Jeep SE offered rear cargo mat?
eaglescout526 Posted December 30, 2019 Posted December 30, 2019 I had a set of black rear floor mats a bit ago. Sold them to another member on here when I bought them from another dealer.

Red Mistress Posted December 31, 2019 Author Posted December 31, 2019 Back home safe. Felt bad dragging it thru rain, so grabbed another hotel and day off work. Love the white wheels. AMC used a certain off white hue that I’ve never seen even the most critical CJ or SJ restorers come close to matching.
