Not sure yet, big plan was to pull bed and truggy the thing tube style. But more and more I be loving the look of it with the bed so it kinda depends on the wheeling I guess. Cause if goes truggy I going with 60f and 14r but no needd thus far for that as my 44 is doing great for me and my style. Just need hydro assit steering being welded front and back. Would like to go selectable looc ker and dd easier with 37s as well

Yeah I need to get on that. ..

Baby jeep is back home finally. Glad to have it back. Been sitting about 5 years or so now. Quick test and got it to fire right up. Super happy. Just need a decent battery and couple tires and fresh gas and I hope to drive it back to the UP in a couple days. Fingers crossed. :beerbang:

Well after draining couple gallons of some very old fuel by jumping the fuel rely and draining at fuel filter. That was replaced with new fuel hose as well. So added 5 gallons of premo gas with some gunmount system cleaner. And having found a 550cca battery locally for $40, went picked it up on my bike, fit well in the milk crate. With that score I was feeling good about it firing up for me after all these years sitting. Figured it to be about 8 years.  None the less, its back and I'm bring her back to life. As per the plan this is baby jeep and will be made pretty and kept nice and serve as reg dd. For now its just getting it going and getting back north before winter.

So after several attempts to get it going by flushing the bad gas out at the fuel rail. Took a bit but finally got to some clear vs yellow gas amd it smelled a lot less like turbintine. :sad2:

So it was rolling good and seemily poping but not enough to start the ol tractor motor. So figured Id best check the cap and plugs. Surly they needed some attention. Indeed they did so back to parts store on the reliable bike to get jeep part. $87.87 got me a new cap, rotor, 6 plugs, autolite platinum being only the cheapest at 4.99. And a pack of hose clamps with a new fuelfilter. I think I forget how much these jeeps nickel and dime you. I can't expect nothing less as I love these 4.0s and jeeps. Plentiful and realiable. Ins is decent as well. Glad to have my dd back. So furthermore, go back to swap the cap with plugs one at a time to not mess up the firing order...to old, to young, just right. :D

Fired right up it did and I yelled "its alive!" . Amazing the difference fresh gas and new spark plugs will do. With that she is running like 170k 4.0 with no sounds but that loud exhaust as someone got the cat off it. :fistshake2: So with it running it has held pressure and no leaks in cooling system. Has the resoviour open system still. Everything looks to be working good, few lights and rely with fuses need gone through for sure yet. Did a quick lap around the farm but I has no brakes. :dunno: no fluid present as leaks anyways. No pressure at the pedal not moving any fluid at the wheels, so thinking it just might be the booster. Not what I wanted to get into at this moment but not sure 500 miles with trailer be in order with out it...that is where I sit and stare and try and remember how to even do drum brakes again.

still has factory spare underneath yet.

Excellent work! That's wild that the original spare is still there. I would get some dot3 brake fluid and flush the brake lines. I found speed bleeders (they have a ball bearing inside to prevent air bubbles on back stroke) to be a godsend when bleeding. Sometimes the bleeding can be a pain to do because of the rear below bed proportioning valve. I removed mine so I can't help you there.

Well after several trips I found the right shoes for her and goinng to bypass the real load valve. Found a bad line after much pumping 9f the brakes. Good news i think being i was worried about the booster. So with fresh new parts hope to get it plumbed and hilding pressure by end of day. Time is running out. :driving:ready to ride.

Well we made the 448mile road trip back to the Trailer Mansion. Pushed the old girl gentley and she did not let me down. Smooth spot was about 62 and quieted down enough to not be annoying down the highway. Slow and steady is the game. Found the gas leak with a full fill up, so now only fill to 3/4 full. Add that to the list like the big jeep also needing a fuel tank and pump. :dunno: It was great fun driving "baby jeep" back north. Night and day difference driving experience and comfort by far. :laugh2: never remember the cab being as quiet as it was. But I like it. :D

I tell you I did the bare min to get it going again and make this trip. This machine is just a machine that dosent quit if you take of them. I love the realibilty with these 4.0s. Now I will have to go through all of cruisers tips for sure being I plan to maintain the renix setup on her. Need to check them damn grounds. :shaking:

Glad to have all  3 MJs home again.  MJ is a little pooped out after our road trip adventure. Got to see her buddy Rusty as we camped out last night creek side. Last min decision being the fuel pump was going out or I was just running out of gas. I added gas after we left and seem to run fine for the last 20 miles and i. The cool morning. Also aided me driving at night when its cooler out and less traffic. Made for a smooth road trip. Now that I'm back I may even grease things now. :rotfl2: :holdwrench:

Hard to tell for sure but it looks like that might be a Cherokee sending unit.

Yes it is. Fellas helped me put it in when was in penn for jeep fest. All they had at the time and it got me home anyways. Just doesnt suck up the last 5 gallons of gas in the tank. And looking at the baby jeep the sending unit dosent look to be in the best shape, rust belt you know. :shaking: so going to plan to get to sending unit and tanks when can. Big jeep is parked anyways for a bit as needs some attention as well.

On the road is better than being towed. :L: There was a Cherokee sending unit in my truck when I got it (didn't know) and couldn't figure out why I could never put more than 14 gallons in my tank before running out of gas.
