jbain Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 How many CC member usually make it to Harlan with NAXJA each year?
SW86 Posted September 23, 2014 Author Posted September 23, 2014 I'm not sure on how traveling on a holiday will work out and some people do the family thing. Plus I'm thinking over crowded trails being the 4th and a national clubs event..
SW86 Posted September 23, 2014 Author Posted September 23, 2014 We can also do a poll on location as well. I know harlan, badlands and hmt are on there. Any other parks in the middle somewhere we're forgetting.? The sooner we pick the place, we can set the date.
ftpiercecracker1 Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 I want to throw my hat in the ring and say i am willing to go any where within reason (mileage). I don't care where it is or if we off road or not. I will do my best to attend, as i consider any formal CC member meet mandatory  .
jbain Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 Holidays are tougher for most families.... my club always goes to Harlan in April every year to beat the crowd and get the trails to ourselves. Early spring, Late fall both are good for cabin availability as well as campground space. I agree with SW86 on the poll.... run it for about a week or so and let the members decide. Then all we need is a date and I can put it on my calender.
SW86 Posted September 23, 2014 Author Posted September 23, 2014 How about this week, anyone who has a place that wants a chance, say it! Obviously we're trying to keep a central location, which does limit us but who knows there could be a hidden park we don't know about........ Lol Next week I'll throw up a poll and we'll leave it for awhile.
89eliminator Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 badlands harlan coal creek SMORR not to try and sound like a jerk, but these are the only places worth it to me to make a trip to.
Incommando Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 Looking at the member map as it exists today would put the most convenient place for a meet by # of members in the Kentucky area as well. here is another place that is popular: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Mud-Madness/148910518620973
jbain Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 Harlan in early May sounds like an awesome Idea.....
boardmanMJ Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 I'm in eastern ohio but I'm always willing to go for a drive. i may not have the MJ running (going on 5 years now) but ill try to make it. probably won't do any trails, the MJ is only 2wd and ill have a fresh coat of new paint on her (hopefully) but if people are going to be camping I'm down for sure. Josh
SW86 Posted September 26, 2014 Author Posted September 26, 2014 I'm sure there will always be dirt roads to ride in whichever park we go to.. 2wd MJs are welcome and camping is probably a good possibility. Even though it is a wheeling trip, I'm sure there will be others things to do around the area as well Looking like these parks will be listed.. Badlands Harlan Hmt (not sure on actual park name or place, in WV) Smorr Durhamtown Tellico Coal Creek Any others or am I missing one or two?
SW86 Posted September 28, 2014 Author Posted September 28, 2014 Poll is live!! Vote, vote, vote! Ill leave it up for two weeks or so for those members who arent creepers on here all the time..
Pete M Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 ooooo.... tough call. Harlan would probably work out better for the meet, but I've always wanted to see Tellico.
neohic Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 ooooo.... tough call. Harlan would probably work out better for the meet, but I've always wanted to see Tellico. Does that mean your '88 just might get the dust knocked off it?
Pete M Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 definitely a possibility. :D though I might need a leaf blower...
jbain Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 I'm in eastern ohio but I'm always willing to go for a drive. i may not have the MJ running (going on 5 years now) but ill try to make it. probably won't do any trails, the MJ is only 2wd and ill have a fresh coat of new paint on her (hopefully) but if people are going to be camping I'm down for sure. Josh I'm definitely going to camp..... it's half the fun of going......
thejim42 Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 If it's in Attica there are a few campgrounds not far that are my old stomping grounds and have nice camp sites
89eliminator Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 If it's in Attica there are a few campgrounds not far that are my old stomping grounds and have nice camp sites or just camp on site....
SW86 Posted October 1, 2014 Author Posted October 1, 2014 Ill be camping on site, where ever we choose
Scottyb Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 ooooo.... tough call. Harlan would probably work out better for the meet, but I've always wanted to see Tellico.. I hope you know that the tellico place mentioned is not actually the original tellico, it is shut down, this place is property near it using the word tellico in its name just to get people interested. Having said that I haven't been to this new place yet so I don't know if it's any good or not, could be great!
