MJOTM - August, 2014 - 1989 Eliminator's Eliminator

Recommended Posts

Originality... We all can relate to this word in one way or another, right? For some of us, this word means being unique in a world of "belly button" vehicles. For others, this word means taking it one step farther. How about knowing that you're in a unique vehicles among unique vehicles? Take a look through this forum. There's modified, heavily modified, barely modified, stock and still on the road... not much for survivors though. Why is that? Because while we love these trucks, there hasn't been a brand new one roll of the assembly line for quite some time now. I think there's just something special... unique!... about a low mileage survivor. This is Jessica...

Custom Cupholders:

I bought a cupholder online and the dishes are very shallow. So what I did was drill out the bottom of one and then attached a beer coozie on the bottom of the cut out. So now instead of the dish being 2 inches deep, it is now 7 inches or so.

Remember That One Time?... Tell Us Your Best MJ Story

Too many stories to choose from!

I would have to say though that every year I go to the Woodward Dream Cruise in Detroit, MI. For those who do not know what it is, its a parade of old classics and fast cars that cruise down Woodward for 12 miles or so. The sides of the streets are filled with spectators to watch all the cars and trucks go by. The first time I went I made sure Jessica was all waxed up and she sure got the attention she deserved. I have 10 people offer to buy my truck but of course I turned them down! Just the feeling I got from everyone giving the truck compliments and seeing something they never have before. I also heard, "What is that thing?!" a bunch of times too (Its a Jeep thing...)! I also gave the crowd a few tastes of Comanche rubber   B). But then sure enough out of the hundreds of cars on the road, I seen another Comanche! I chased him down and we parked on the side of the road to talk about our Jeeps!

CC is Awesome!... Why Do You Think So? ●

I think CC is awesome because its different from other Jeep forums. It obviously is focused on Comanches only but as a group we really want to help each other out. I guess we can be considered as a family! We have consistent members that always tune in to update their posts or look at others to see if they need any help. The posts that people make are also like a second work manual! I love the detailed instructions for DIY projects and that is why I make some myself so others can benefit from them. I use CC so much for information and opinions on various things. The admins are always open for suggestions and keep the website running well, as well as the new Tapatalk phone app! We are just so dedicated to our MJs and this forum. We even have apparel, magnets and other accessories! I mean come on, if that isnt CC pride then I don't know what is.

My friends always give a little chuckle when I talk about Comanche Club but they just don't get it!

Its a Comanche thing, you wouldn't understand...

Holly crap, Jake! The cleanliness of your MJ is just unreal. Low miles... mostly stock... I think this is a good example of how to do it right. Even with the small changes and future plans for the truck, nothing on it would take much effort to put it back exactly how the factory intended it to be. Great truck and great example of the great look of these amazing trucks! Not to mention those sexy Eliminator stripes!... but of course I'm just a little bit bias. Congratulations and thanks for being a part of Comanche Club!

She's gorgeous and you have done a lot of quality work to keep her that way. A 5" lift with 32" tires wouldn't be in my plans, but she's your rig of course and you can do anything you want to do. Would recommend a non-SOA 3" lift via quality lift springs and coils up front with the appropriate shocks. This way you can easily go back to stock and retain it's value.

That is nice.  I agree with Don.  Maybe a minor lift but that is all.  These trucks in stock condition are becoming very rare.  BTW, Factory fog lights?  They look like ROLs.  Dang I have been looking for those for years.  Do you park in dark areas at night?

Congrats Jake! What a cherry sweet ride, and kudos on accomplishing Cruiser's tips. Please forgive my imposition, but I too am among those suggesting a "moderate" lift...if you must. The rarity of those few miles, and a truck in that condition is incredible.
