neohic
From my wanted ad for a HO gauge cluster: Bump. I thought I had one lined up... paid for it... then patiently waited with the "it's on its way" song and dance a couple times. I'm currently waiting to hear back from PayPal about the dispute I filed over this whole deal. PayPal has a policy that states that one can dispute a transaction with 45 days of making it. The deal was made between us and I paid his full asking price along with the cost of shipping. Everything was done on my side as we agreed. Almost 45 days later, my dispute was made with hopes of being reimbursed my payment to him. I think we've got an awesome group of members here. What disappoints me is having the feeling of throwing someone under the bus. I have made a number of efforts to resolve this issue between us but I have not heard anything back within a timely fashion. So... anyone have a HO cluster they'd like to sell? Like I said in the quote, never have I been one to really stir things up and throw mud at someone. Just wanted things known to make sure you know who you're buying things from. I've never had any issues in the past purchasing something here from someone I've never personally met, but just the thought that I was doing business with someone from CC was good enough reason to show a little trust. We're all friends, right? I like to think so! Really too bad things come to publicly calling someone out that can't seem to handle holding up their part of a deal even WELL after paying for the item. Was it a lot of money? Maybe not, but it was definitely enough that you'd pick it up off the ground if you saw it. Anyhow, I guess what I really wanted to say is a big "thank you" to Dando. Thank you for relieving me of a lump of cash that you clearly didn't think I deserved anything for.
Keyav8r
Bummer - but, maybe you just saved another member from going through the same hassle.
HOrnbrod
Nope, the CC forum does not need or want dishonest members screwing other members. There's enough of that everywhere else in life. Hopefully this person has the decency and guts to respond to this thread and make things right.
87Warrior
Nothing worse in life than a rotten thief. Especially when you thought the thief was a friend, or at least an acquaintance. I have been purchasing Jeep parts via forums for 13 years now. My money has been stolen twice. 1st was for a sticker at Rubicon Owners forum in 2004 and the 2nd was for a power 97+ XJ mirror at NAXJA in 2008. Pretty insignificant, but those sour members left a permanent impression on me.

onlyinajeep726
That's some BS. Ban him from this forum. No need for folks like that.
glundblad
I don't know if this would help future paypal purchasers but I have taken my checking account out of my paypal account and use a credit card only. Then when I pay via paypal, it draws from my credit card. Then (presumably), if someone sticks me, I can contact my credit card company and withdraw payment. lil_loco
Or only send money as a purchase (yes it's an option) so pay pal will help you..... If they still do that purchaser protection thing.

neohic
... Hopefully this person has the decency and guts to respond to this thread and make things right. Right? At the very least send me a PM or email me back. Haven't heard anything through PayPal either.
sinkrun
Paypal most likely will not do anything since its a ebay transaction. I know not what you wanted to hear. Maybe someone on here is close to him and can pay him a visit?? If you needed a Renix cluster I would give you one free.
88whitemanche
What you can do is call your bank and file a claim if your card is assigned to your paypal account.... I recently had to do that earlier this month for a purchase I made for a bumper back in dec of last year and I got my money back....

Minuit
Never in a million years did I expect a CC member to do this. neohic
Paypal most likely will not do anything since its a ebay transaction... Not an ebay transaction. Just one dude trying to work with another. What you can do is call your bank and file a claim if your card is assigned to your paypal account.... It was run through a credit card that's tied to the PayPal account. Not a huge deal if I need to get in touch with the card people, just one more hand in the cookie jar. I made the claim through PayPal three days ago. I highly doubt it, but out of the graciousness from within me I'm giving him the weekend to see if he does the right thing through PayPal. I've got until July 8th to sick the wrath of the PayPal representatives after him. Definitely not worried about getting the money back.

But boy would I be ashamed if my uncle, cousin, brother, aunt, uncle, mom & dad started getting letters about what a POS I was...but I guess if you were capable of shame you wouldn't be ripping people off in the first place. I posted his info on a few boards that center on the area he lives in. Maybe someone will know him. If nothing else they know to avoid him. A great thing about naming such people is that if anyone every does a name search or a screen name search in google or bing they may get a little warning about his methods.
