knever3 Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 My fiance and I are looking for a Comanche cake topper scale model. I know it sounds strange but we want to design a cake for it. She wants to use this with it. If we can locate a Jeep Comanche model we can do something fun with it.
Pete M Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 prepare for some disappointment. :( how big/small are we talking here?
ComancheKid45 Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 Closest thing ive ever found that was acctually an MJ was bodies for RC trucks. theres plenty of J Truck replicas out there and I'm sure there's XJs as well, but in all my efforts of searching ive never even seen a picture of a scale model Comanche :(
dasbulliwagen Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 I saw one on here quite a while back, but it was an XJ model that was modified to look like an MJ.
Automan2164 Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 Brent has told me they did in fact make an MJ model, but he has yet to find one. I haven't found one either, but believe me, it's not from a lack of trying. Rob L.
jeepdoggydogB Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 There was wooden little wooden truck that resembled a Jeep pickup . http://www.buysellcommunity.com/sale/GTEYSQBT/ You might be able to do a little cosmetic work to it, or ask the seller to make one for you.
500 MJ Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 Brent has told me they did in fact make an MJ model, but he has yet to find one. I haven't found one either, but believe me, it's not from a lack of trying. Rob L. I told you what? :huh???:

TheJeepNut Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 Get ahold of this guy. He can carve one up for you out of wood. This is the most amazing video and modeling I've ever seen. The model is superb but the video production is outstanding! (wish it was an MJ)...

xjrev10 Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 those models even appear to be leaning to the driver's side just like our pickups do :chillin:
87Warrior Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 Those "models" are at least 14" long and attach to a $300 RC car.... but if its in the wedding budget....
fiatslug87 Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 http://www.comancheclub.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=13813&hilit=matchbox You can also do this with Cherokees that are ~1:32 scale (5 1/2 inches long) instead of 1:64 that are plastic and made by TootsieToys.
knever3 Posted January 18, 2011 Author Posted January 18, 2011 Those "models" are at least 14" long and attach to a $300 RC car.... but if its in the wedding budget.... That would make for one huge cake, hopefully there is something more out there. I'll keep looking...
86customanche Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 Bringing this back. I've got the same thing going with my fiancé. She says just a jeep to put on the cake but obviously I want it to be an mj. I haven't had any luck looking other than RCA bodies and they are too big anyways.
TGTgoHARD Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 Good start...... http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Pro-Line-Jeep-Comanche-Full-Bed-Clear-Body-313mm-3362-00-NIB-/330865203125?pt=US_Character_Radio_Control_Toys&hash=item4d091a57b5
86customanche Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 I like that but unfortunately it would be too big. I've been told it needs to fit on a piece of paper
Geonovast Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 Cake for my 21st Maybe you could talk her into making the whole cake an MJ, and just getting bigger bride and groom?
86customanche Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 That's pretty cool. Love the beer can aspect. So realistic
ComancheKid45 Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 Still search 1-2 times a week, Still have come up empty everytime in the search for a Comanche model or diecast...
86customanche Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 I wonder if they even made them when the trucks were being made. I was only 3 when production stopped
Geonovast Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 I doubt it. If they ever existed, one of us would have at least found a picture of one by now.
COMJNUT Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 That RC video was amazing. the one thing that I saw that dropped my jaw on the video was that the hand on the steering wheel and the steering wheel moved with the steering of the model. and yes the closest thing that I've seen for a model size is the proline lexan body for r/c cars.
