500 MJ Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 We got 15" on Wednesday - a dusting to what I'm used to getting for the last 4 years up in the UP of Michigan... We worked our butts off at work yesterday and today shoveling out the switches in the yard to get the trains rolling around Madison again...
mvusse Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 Forecast 1", got a dusting that promptly evaporated (sublimated) because of the dry air. Yesterday morning it was 50 degrees, yesterday afternoon it was 20 degrees with 40 mph wind, wind kept blowing with the temp near steady until about noon today, then it started dropping again. 11 degrees right now, but at least the wind died down. All the forecasts consider us to be in the snow belt, while in reality I'm just a few miles too far south and west. So for every inch they forecast, we get about 1/16". Unless it comes from the south (gulf moisture, but cold enough to not come down as rain). Then we get dumped on big time.

500 MJ Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 We got 15" on Wednesday - a dusting to what I'm used to getting for the last 4 years up in the UP of Michigan... Rob L. :D I'm keepin' an eye out for ya Rob. Unfortunately we are waiting for the economy to turn back just like everyone else. There are alot of guys that we laid off that get the first shot at jobs when they open back up...Keeping you posted though.

87Warrior Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 Had a little: This is a county road to our property. I stopped here to gauge the drifts further up, as they were deeper. Turned around when the snow was taller than my tires. Image Not Found Image Not Found
pilotblake Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 Our roads looked like that for the last snow. We are in the beginning of getting 12"-14" of snow after raining all evening yesterday. This is not a guage of the depth of the snow at the time of this post, but more so my lazyness in preheating the vehicle. This is normally part of the yard and is right outside the house door. What can you do. I will get some pics of manche out playing in the snow tomorrow. This from the last snow that I also finished off a motor mount, now since fixed and back in order. Goes good until it gets up to the hood.
