neohic Posted February 6, 2017 Posted February 6, 2017 Nice. Love that big huffer proudly displayed through the hood.
mnkyboy Posted February 6, 2017 Author Posted February 6, 2017 There was no way i was going to be able to hide that thing.
mnkyboy Posted February 22, 2017 Author Posted February 22, 2017 I've driven the truck a little bit and it scoots along pretty good. I still need to set up the wide band o2& boost gauges and water/air intercooler before i can really play with it. I ordered a 4 gal ice box to mount in the bed and a pump, just have to decide on a heat exchanger then i can set up the intercooler, the wide band and boost gauges are mounted in a pillar mount and just need wired up.
HOrnbrod Posted February 22, 2017 Posted February 22, 2017 How much boost do you think will happen when everything's hooked up and tuned? Maybe 5-6 psi? I'm looking at THIS kit - no hood cutting. And only $3K. :ack: The wife will kill me, but that's nothing new.
mnkyboy Posted February 22, 2017 Author Posted February 22, 2017 I believe mine is 6lbs with the current pulley. Hopefully i can get the gauge wired up soon and find out for sure. Most people don't end up cutting the hood, most I've seen mount the SC on the passenger side and set it lower. My biggest issue is that i have the water/air intercooler sandwiched in there making my set up really tall. That sideways mounted SC kit looks pretty cool,i bet it would look great under your hood.

Yep, I think it could easily double that time, especially since for the side mount you have to pull the intake manifold and hardwire the controller into the ECU harness.
mnkyboy Posted February 23, 2017 Author Posted February 23, 2017 I could see that time if you had done it before, the average person out in the garage is probably going to take a bit longer.
mnkyboy Posted February 25, 2017 Author Posted February 25, 2017 Got the ice box and pump for the intercooler today,it's shiny so it has to be loaded with horsepower.

DRUNKMAR1NE Posted March 3, 2017 Posted March 3, 2017 Ok thanks I plan on doing something similar to yours but stock length of course Can I just wire these into the stock wiring
HOrnbrod Posted March 5, 2017 Posted March 5, 2017 That A-pillar gauge pod looks like it fits nicely. Autometer?
mnkyboy Posted March 6, 2017 Author Posted March 6, 2017 Yes it's the Autometer, iirc it was the only MJ/XJ specific one i could find at the time.
mnkyboy Posted March 10, 2017 Author Posted March 10, 2017 Last big piece to the intercooler puzzle showed up.
mnkyboy Posted March 12, 2017 Author Posted March 12, 2017 Took the MJ for a drive, even hit the highway,it did so well that i decided it deserved a bath.
cerial Posted March 14, 2017 Posted March 14, 2017 I see that AC bracket sitting there all naked. Is on board air in the future?.
mnkyboy Posted March 14, 2017 Author Posted March 14, 2017 Maybe eventually. The MPFI donor had it so i kept it,it's nice to know i have the option for it.
mnkyboy Posted March 22, 2017 Author Posted March 22, 2017 A short video of the MJ climbing a fairly steep stretch of road.
mnkyboy Posted April 2, 2017 Author Posted April 2, 2017 I've had people ask about the noise from tbe supercharger, here is a video of the engine running and one of the exhaust. https://youtu.be/i7LW6TR3twI https://youtu.be/qrcn3fgQKKc
mnkyboy Posted April 2, 2017 Author Posted April 2, 2017 A little ghost ride in 2wd double low (152:1) https://youtu.be/7LQASqkSgp8
mnkyboy Posted April 9, 2017 Author Posted April 9, 2017 I reworked the idlers to get better belt contact with the powersteering pump. Before/after.
