jimmy21669
Wow....I worked my butt off is what I did. Finished rebuilding my AX4...first time effort and it did NOT come without it's pitfalls. I shattered my cluster gear bearing, but was able to build a new one with parts I had. Once I got the whole shebang reassembled, I reinstalled everything into the MJ. The Purple People Eater is now OFFICIALLY a 4x4 a MAY make it's debut in December.   This was a very rewarding challenge. I now know how to rebuild manual transmissions which is a major plus!

JohnQ
Put the starter back in after having it tested yesterday, but I wasn't able to try and start it. I have no idea what is going on with it. Then I got in trouble with the wife because I was suppose to be getting ready to go to the in-laws. Now I'm at my in-laws wishing I was still working on my truck! dasbulliwagen
The Boss's MJ has been sitting, not driven since the last time I fixed it, I think for a broken heater control valve, its been a month or so since I did that. Anyways, he gives it to our cleanup guy this morning to take to pick something up 2 cities over. He makes it two miles up the road before it dies, and the boss called me to go get him. Took a jump box with me, and we jumped it off, it ran fine as long as it had the jump box on it, take the jumper off, and it boggs, spits and sputters. The negative cable was not fully tight, and the cable itself is in REALLY bad shape. I figured at the least it was a bad cable causing it to not be able to charge, so we shoved the jump box in the engine bay, cliked the hood down to first latch, and drove it back to the dealership. I got a new cable for it, and then tested to see if the alternator was putting out..... NOPE. Ordered a new alternator, to be put on monday. :shake:

MJCARENA
Replaced the starter. Took it to Lowes to get roofing stuff and when I went to go back for some 2x4's it wouldn't crank over. :( Banged on the starter and it started right up. Used my other truck and got a new starter and the 2x4's. At least it broke at the house. The wife said that the MJ doesn't like to have to do any work. She called it a princess.
