Finally finished up the alignment, installed the reciever hitch, installed new inside dome lights, changed the door seals for some newer ones, installed the relay for the kc's, welded up the exhaust hangers that were broke, and put some new speakers in the doors. All in all a good day of wrenchin!

Wired up my under-bumper flood reverse light to a switch on the dash. Used an old KC light wire that splits in case I get motivated to put in a second light.

Repainted my bedsides to match nicer and took another shot at correcting my "rev to the moon" issues on intermittent startups.

Also handed out another CC business card.....this time to a fella with a SWB Sportruck the same color mine was prior to me recieving it, only with alot less rust jamminz.gif

And until it snowed, so were we. Welcome to the land of Four Seasons. If you don't like Alberta weather, wait 5 minutes.....it will change.

Got lots of info from here using the links and posts. Laid up under the truck and examined the best possible way to stick the tranny back in since the torque converter seal replacement. Stabbed the tranny. Took a few hundred breaks in between.

Replaced a fusable link the PO had "fixed".

I also picked up new motor and transmission mounts. Managed to get one motor mount installed but the passenger side mount is right against the alternator. If the bolt was the other way around it would just slide off. I don't want to pull the alternator just for one bolt so I'll try cutting it off tomorrow and just buy a new bolt.

Here's the old motor mount I pulled today and the new replacement.

Finally locked the CAD in permanently today. Took all of about 30 minutes including time to clean it up a little. Certainly eliminated the jerking and banging that use to occur when I shifted into Part time or full time. Discovered while I had it open that the axle seal is non-existant. No wonder it shows a little oil drip at end of axle now and then. Put that on the to do list.

Yeah I kept putting it off as I intended, and still do, to put a complete 98-00 front D30 LS under there. Just waiting for the right deal to show up at the right price.

You were running a CAD axle with a 242?

Baaaaad plan. Glad you got it fixed now.

Please explain :???:

I'll be putting a 242 in mine shortly, so do I need to permanently engage the CAD?
