Both my daughter and I are fine. I was amazed how stable the truck was and how easy it was to control even though I was missing a wheel and skiing on the lower ball joint. It seems the bearing ceased, which explains why it was pulling to the right. Once I had it pulled off the road and stopped, the left over part of the outer axle shaft was glowing red for about 10 minutes. Grease was boiling out off the upper ball joint, and the pavement around the knuckle (which had dug in by then) was burning.

A friend of mine has most all parts needed to fix it and should have them ready for me to pick up in Cleveland tomorrow evening. With a bit of luck (yeah, right! All my luck us bad luck...) the truck should be back on 4 wheels and drivable by the end of the week.

How about a floor first then POR 15. It'll hold up better.

I am but I have to wait a week before I can get the floor done. i want to do the rest of the floor so I can put the dash back in.

I still want to see someone replace their floor with plexiglass.

I drove around with the windows down... all of them. I took the back window out to clean up before the new slider goes in. Hard not to enjoy at 72°.

Parked it till next week. Found that my hub assembly and bearings and whatever are shot on my RF. You can move the wheel about 6" back and forth when its jacked up. :wall:

All that's holding it is the U-joint and maybe the brake line

I gutted my interior to check the rust damage to the drivers floor and discovered a leaky clutch master cylinder in addition to some rot.

i installed the shifter and had to kill my hand-throttle cable to do so, so i'll be needing another one of those. (bike shop!)
