deziped Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 Well on the 86 I removed the bolts holding the bed and fuel tank on. Tomorrow if I have time I'll lift it off with the come-a-long. Also got the last of the black interior stripped out & cleaned up. Unbolted the clamps on the intermediate shaft so I can try and pry it out also.
Pete M Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 fired up the fleet today. well, most of the fleet anyway. discovered that the gas tank in the 88 is mysteriously empty. hooray for rust. :fs1:
SuperWade2 Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 Installed replacement Tranny Mount. Finished painting and reinstalling my Crossmember....figured out how I am going to mount my T-Case Skid.

mvusse Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 I've had an itch for a few months now, and finally got to scratch it. In the process I busted a bracket holding the DS mirror on, ripped off the PS mirror, lost my muffler, tore the breather hose off the front diff (sure it's full of water again :fs1: ) and on the way home the alternator went out.
CWLONGSHOT Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 I cleaned rims!!! SO, I brought in the aluminum rims for a good cleaning. I have found that "coil Cleaner" for air conditioning coils works GREAT!! I hit them each four times, then washed them in hot water and soft scrub cleaner. then today, I brought in my powerball and mothers billet aluminum polish. Hit them a couple times each, finished up with some wheel wax. WOW they came out great!! Not mirror brite, but clean, smooth and nice. BEFORE: AFTER: Lastly I cleaned off the bead area with some 220grit wet/dry paper. I got home and its pretty warm.. SO i decide to mouth them up!! Tenn minutes and I have them all mounted!!
SuperWade2 Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 Did a little surface rust extraction (wire wheel).... touched up the interior (where the water was leaking) and my bed... it's not perfect, but should hold for a while... I'd still like to eventually get a LineX sprayed bedliner, but don't have the extra $$$ right now...
Dirteatr717 Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 drove to skool and then took a little detour on the way home and got some mud on her haha..everythings been running pretty smooth with it :)
1990 Pioneer 4x4 Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 I like your idea of applying Line-X to the cab floor; do those drain plugs pop out/in easily?
BREEZE1 Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 Climbed inside it and prayed real hard that it would start!
Geonovast Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 Climbed inside it and prayed real hard that it would start! And?
oldrusty Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 Beat the ever loving tar out of it for the third day in a row..........32 hours of plowing snow in the last 3 days
CWLONGSHOT Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 The MJ got lots of attention today!!! It fineally installed my winter tires.... 33x10.5X15 BFG AT's. I installed my ZJ V8 sway bar!! Then I built some disconect "holders" for my JKS discos. I too a 12" piece of 1.25X1/8" piece of flat stock.. bent a 1" tab on each end and chopped it in half. then drilled mounting holes for the "pins that come with the discos. Then I took the inner bolt out of the cradle that holds the sway bar bushings and put my brackets under it and tightened it back down. GOOD DAY!!!

gambit4000s Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 I bought two of em and made one slightly drivable by plugging rear output of the brake MC. rusted brake lines  I'll replace the whole line when I get the 2nd one home and swap the beds.

Puritan21 Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 Well, finally got my D30 front axle good to go. Ended up changing out the driver's side wheel bearing hub and upper ball joint. Changed out the passenger side axel u-joint and wheel bearing hub. Also put in a new track bar. Smooth as silk!! pilotblake Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 Absolutely nothing. Too damn cold. :fs1:
STERLING STINGER Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 i went out to notice a puddle of steering fluid on the floor of my garage. :fs1: tiny hole in steering pump hose. because i got the replacement hose off of a 90 or so cherokee, it was a little long so i had to bend it the opposite way that the factory had it bent causing stress where it shouldnt be......soooooooo, after learning the mistake never to bend hoses the way they shouldnt be, i cut a piece of rubber hose and put a hose clamp on it until i can get to the pick n pull. not a drip.....for now :rotf:
Automan2164 Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 got the long arm upgrade today ,plan to install next weekend That RE stuff? Rob L.
