Looks like a quality product. I like the brake flash and camera option. -

No, the adapter fits flush with the body of the Comanche and contours really well. I will get you a side view this weekend when I get back home. The Morimoto should fit in the BPD adapter as it is machined for the standard factory F150 3rd light. I presume the Morimoto is too. Sweet looking product. -

I used it to get a speed signal to the factory 411 PCM so I could get the cruise control to work. You don't need it for gauges if you are using a 231 or 242 transfer case. -

I used the Recon 264129BK for an F150 with the Bulletproof diesel 90201129 Cargo light and antenna mount for the same vehicle. The mount installed flush to the Comanche and the Recon then fitted inside that mount. It allows the fitting of a bigger 3rd light and gives you an antenna mount for a CB or other antenna. -
An 8,000lb winch is only 8,000lb at the first layer It is surprising how much rating you lose with each layer. Warn has a nice article on it. Obviously snatch blocks are your friend. WARN Winch Performance Specifications: Pulling Capacity by Layer | WARN Industries

I used aluminum angle which I bent to fit and then used this from Precision Products. Didn't kill the noise but it reduced it for sure. More details in my build thread. Precision Product DWB 6111 84 Detail Page (prp.com) -

How many of you guys run LT tires?

I appreciate the kind words. OME are tricky they have a weird part no system and constantly change their product line and part numbers. You have to go by length, stroke and what ends the shock has. I used, with a 2" lift, 60046 front and 60032 in the rear. I used OME 2934 springs in the front. I love OME used them on many Jeeps. But as always it is a personal preference, some people love them, some hate them. IMHO anything offroad that works in Australia which is the most demanding offroad environment in the world, just because of the sheer distances and heat works for me. -
I have ridden for over 30 miles in one shot. Now it wasn't up a mountain, and I used the battery probably 10% of the time and it used about 20% of the charge. If you were going up a mountain and using pedal assist all the time, my guess is you would get about 20 - 25 miles or so. The pedal assist is very efficient, and I only ever use the first stage. It gives you plenty of support. On a mountain you might need 2 or maybe 3. I can never see why you would need the highest setting. Aventon has a really good piece on their website about calculating range.

I have an Aventon. It is a wonderful device. Crazy range. Pedal assist is the greatest. It just allows you to ride much further without getting to the point of no return. Worth spending a bit more to get past the cheap Chinese ones (that also can catch fire). The more you spend the lighter they are and the better drive and batteries. They are heavier than a regular bike, so weight is important. My local e bike store where I got mine also likes Himiway and Velotric. I have also heard good things about Rattan. A class 3 is the way to go 28mph top speed which is scary enough.

I have them in my Comanche and in my LJ before that. Very comfortable seat, the build options are almost limitless. I went to the factory in Temecula when I ordered mine. Great bunch of people. All made in the USA. Mine are enduro recliners with a headrest. (Not sure if they do the headrest any longer). Bestop did buy them in 2018, just after I visited so I am not sure if they operate the same today. What is really cool is that they will also sell you the fabric used in the seats so you can match door cards, headliners etc. if you are so inclined. If I had the money today, I would buy Scheel-Mann seats. Heard they are amazing.

To me the biggest reason is the chicken tax. Completely stifles innovation. There are plenty of small trucks and vans around the world, they just can't be imported here without a 25% tax. They also would easily meet the fuel economy requirements. Basically, the big 3 have a protected monopoly for trucks. (No wonder they keep raising prices). The EPA also set lower fuel economy standards for trucks due to the intense lobbying from the domestic auto industry who would cease to exist without trucks. The standards were set just in case the Chicken tax was repealed; they thought the higher fuel economy ratings would keep imports out. BTW Buick doesn't make trucks so it an irrelevant argument.

I have Toyo OpenCountry LT's on my Comanche. It rides great. However I have OME shocks. OME 160lb dual rate front springs and regular rear leafs. If I remember right -

I like Core 4x4. They are good quality and reasonable.

I have a Redhead gears steering box. It works well. It is $316 plus a $150 core. It is a great product but for $50 less than a new Borgeson (if you don't have a good core)I would go that route if I did it again. Borgeson make really good products. However it will never be as good as rack and pinion.

I think the dual pass doesn't work very well on an 11" high radiator that is 35" wide. Basically, each pass is only 5.5" high. A stock truck LS radiator is around 18" high and 34" wide. So volumetrically a stock LS radiator is 60% bigger. Triple fans compensate for some of that. I need to dig into the construction some more. I heard that the baffles were not installed on some I need to check mine. -

After 2 years of fighting overheating and going down multiple rabbit holes I decided to ditch the Novak radiator and replace it with a Champion Radiators 2 row crossflow XJ radiator with 3 Spal 30103057 10" fans. My overheating problems have now completely gone away. Driven about 400 miles on open road and in heavy traffic, driven hard and never went over 200F. Never had that happen before. I am so stinking happy!!
