  1. ...my frame break was probably partially my fault but we have no way of knowing at this point if I missed a small part of where I cut or not. either way, frame breaks are quite common from what I've seen, and I've seen a few xj's with torn-off LCA mounts on the body-side
  2. Yeah 2wd.. Cool I knew someone knew what it was!! So it goes where?? Is it a power supply in line with dash lights?? So it provides power with lights on right?? Or am I missing something, other then a transfercase.??. it's got power to it right now, just needs the small extension/light harness that goes to the center console.
  3. you have 2wd? it's the connector to your center console lights (the ones for the 4wd indicator)
  4. yes, he did. if you put aftermarket lights in there and are now having problems...I'd say you picked the wrong power supply to run it through. that's the symptom you have :D there are 2 power supplies per side. you want the one that only lights up when the doors are open ;) :brows:
  5. well I have everything for IN the bed ready :D now to get that lift on, some body work done, and some tires...
  6. turn the light switch to the right one click (yes, turn) or flip the domes to the "off" position. there IS an always on position. the other side would be the door-open position (they're a 3 position switch. ALWAYS ON, OFF, DOOR-OPEN)
  7. they come out with a torx and you should have holes there for it.
  8. and put the new ones in the freezer until you're just about to install them. they'll slide right in.
  9. one from a comanche or cherokee...just use the factory one.
  10. don't' fourget the atomatik peejnikufesin and whatnot
  11. SW, I can make a small alluminum bracket for it real quick and send it out...that's not hard. I've done it on quite a few of these now, and just use a short sheetmetal screw to buzz it into the inside of the console where it broke (so it doesn't go through) expect that with the drip rails
  12. you may have found a comanche before me? i FAIL!!!! :P you should figure it out...see if there actually is one. I'd like one.
  13. build your own http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/trail-gr ... enameZWDVW this guy thinks his truck is worth something. it's using 4 ski-doo snowmobile skids (suspension rails + Idler wheels) with some goofy $#!& welded to the rims. that wouldn't hold up to abuse, and it wouldn't hold up to a powerful motor, because those skids are just aluminum and about 1"x2" and not that thick for the whole measurement. but, for what it's worth, he did get a decent design out of it.
  14.
  15. BLHTAZ, that's exactly what I mean. it takes too much effort, and the sale isn't enough for their effort...a.k.a. the profit isn't enough for their search time.
  16. thought I'd post up more pics for you Correy, since I knew you didn't save these :P
  17. :D ....he does good for me too. mind you, he doesn't let the techs work on his cherokee...I do that :brows: I still gotta go pick up that j4000 from him....
  18. I'm picking up another comanche in less than a week...and I'll be selling the transmission out of it for a buck and a half, it's an AX5. if the trannies are in good shape, they're worth a bit of money.
  19. EVERY dealership can locate ANY parts that are still available and quoted as in stock in any system, through their searching services. now, the problem you get is that they aren't making much, if any, money on the product...so they basically lie to your face and won't take the time or effort to search.
  20. I'm game...no work tomorrow although Woody is stopping by for a bit. you get the info, I'll drive :D
  21. nice!@ you lucky bastid... are these sales cross-country or just in select areas? I MUST be missing them...
  22. except he means the AX-15 can take the abuse of either motor...the AX-5 suffers even behind a 2.8 sometimes (if you abuse it) I have an AX5 in the 3800 (my 86 comanche) which is powered by a 3.8 camaro motor...3800 camaro ~ 4.0 jeep motor (they're close in power) and I have been through one transmission with little abuse (but 270+++ miles on the tranny so... ). it's just not a heavy duty tranny.
  23. did you drive it before the new Master cylinder was installed? was the catch point different? I would re-bleed the clutch system and then figure out where to go from there.
