    Bad drivers

THERE IS NOTHING wrong with that last pic.... matter of fact, that's very, very right!
  2. my dealer said he knows where two are. i'll look into them and if I can get a hold of them, i'll let them go at cost.
  3. that's sweet I'd do it with relays and set it up so that you tap one button up (spring-loaded button so it only works one way) to shift up, and another button down to shift down. that way you have alot less fooling around while driving. do you daily drive the thing? if so just one suggestion...put the switches near the shifter, or even on the steering wheel so that they're near at hand. GREAT JOB though!
  4. very informative. i'm ashamed of my use thus far
  5. ...or windburned
  6. my face got sunburned
  7. *shrug* then you need to find a different MJ it doesn't matter that you need just the shell. honestly, how often will you find "just" an MJ shell. much less a nice one. you'd be buying it for what it is. it's in great shape and worth the money, the engine should be a easy repair. your best bet is to buy it for that, or close to that price if it's OBO, then when you gut it, you sell off the parts you don't need to recoup your money. if you can't do that, then you've got a project on your mind that quite literally can't be done with your plans, unless you get that .25% chance that you find a real nice comanche shell (with intact tail lights and tail light wiring, cause the cherokee lights DO NOT fit) no flaming or hating here, just telling you like it is.
  8. k that truck is worth it. your clues were too obvious on who it was. I want that truck too but I just don't have enough time or money to go get it.
  9. thanks. but you mean quasi-laredo. yours has a few features that were never offered...and should've been
  10. you crushed the little black ball that's behind the front right hand side of the bumper. it's called a vacuum canister. without it, you both have a vacuum leak, and no vacuum buildup for to run the heater controls (which are vacuum actuated). also, the reason it's not getting too warm is that you have a heater control valve in the heater lines of your truck, that is operated by vacuum sent through the heater controls. now that this is not getting vacuum, it cannot open. if it cannot open, you cannot get the coolant to flow through the heater core, and therefore, you will not get heat (you'll get just a small amount from energy/heat transfer in the liquid that's sitting there, but that's about it. also check that you've bled the coolant system properly...your problem is most definitely lack of vacuum, BUT if you haven't "bled" the cooling system of all air, it may not get warm and may burn up the motor
  11. serious here I assume that said comanche is maroon with silver trim and maroon interior, located in or around VA? if that's the one, it's worth every penny of it. I'll tell you now, motor and tranny can be replaced, 4x4 swap is easy. you can't buy a good comanche body anywhere for the most part, but you can buy good drivetrain any day of the week. so, if it's good body-wise, and still runs and drives but needs some attention, and it's a laredo (remember, that's full package with bucket seats, all power windows/locks, a/c, probably split rear window, definitely vent wing windows, probably cruise control too), then it's worth the money.
  12. oh IMAGINE the possibilities.... guys be careful what you have open while you're doing the screenshot lol...don't want to know what your favorite use of the computer is
  13. :D we use what we can and ya akamcbird, I'd have done that and kept the rails...except I didn't wanna gut the interior outside, it's cold right now. oh well. I'm building a strong front frame that will bolt on and then weld onto the rear framing.
  14. :-/ metal shavings aren't good...what kinda razor have you been using  anyways yeah it's nice to live on a "farm" but my mother doesn't seem to understand...she married a mechanic, and she's mad about all the "junk" laying around. generally we clean house every 4 months or so...and where I park the parts trucks no one can see, yet she throws a blooming fit about it. I understand though, that it's her house. don't push the issue.
  15. I generally find about 4 comanches a month. doesn't mean they're for sale, but most of them could be bought. and last count, I've had around 10 MJ's OTHER than the one I drive, the one my brother drives, and my dad's. ...as for finding them. everyone who knows jeep around here knows I'm obsessed. they also all have my phone numbers, and all of my comancheclub cards have my phone number and contact info on them. if someone finds one, they tell me and I scope it out. if I find one, I drop a card, and generally get a call...whether it be for sale or parts. even the jeep dealer in town gives out my number to comanche owners...(he obviously has permission) is it crazy when I'm thinking of putting my logo on my trucks, and getting a cell phone just for the MJ business? :chillin:
  16. Pretty driveshaft builders huh?? Do more then make driveshaft too, huh?? I think I'll leave that one alone.................. :rotf: :rotfl2: :teehee: it's all about the power of the dollar :brows:
  17. seriously though, there are pretty local driveshaft builders almost everywhere (they do more than driveshafts, but they can do driveshafts)
  18. well, a water bottle works too...

    09 trucks

you mean the tundra looks like a ram OP, you're asking the wrong question...it's not a jeep and therefore worthless. but if you must, I say RAM is better
  20. :P that truck has a nice ax15 swap in it then. check the tranny, if it's the factory trans it's gonna be a ba10/5. (all MJ 4.0 5 speed were ba10/5 until sometime during 1989...although it's a mixed year)
  21. Geonovast's measurements are from the bottom of the bellhousing (the little drain lip there) to the tip of the output shaft (not the tip of the seal, the tip of the shaft...that's very important) I'd say do the swap and lift it to where it belongs, then drive it in (cut a coke can in half and tape it around the output) to the driveshaft shop and have them do the measurements...you will get the exact shaft you need that way
  22. looks great so far pm me if you'd like some cab vent covers for it, and some comanche emblems (cheap) also, If you're not using the power windows system from the xj...could I con you out of them? they do fit in a comanche you just remove the rear lift gate wiring from it and install it in the mj, then get 4 door cherokee window motors and install them -Pat
  23. you don't want that ranger? they why are you buying it? I presume that you're making payments on the ford right? any way you can do it without having to pay right away? because honestly, if you could get the ranger and THEN sell the truck, you'd be scott free. OR get someone to buy the mj on a weekday and go to the dealer, put money down, and drive off how much are they telling yout he MJ is worth?
  24. ...why are you trading it in? the trade-in value is far less probably than you'd get by selling it outright. and, frankly, the dealership doesn't want your old truck. some hobo will end up buying it. maybe broadcast it on here and try to sell it? the dealership may have offered you X price for the manche but they'll bring it lower on the day of trade-in, leaving you stuck. don't get me wrong, for you this is the right thing...but that comanche won't be loved and you won't get half it's value from the stealership.
  25. 2.8 ax5 comanche front driveshaft. which is the same anyways
