  1. got drawings of the "stock" rear bumper done finally! hopefully tomorrow when i go into work i can have a program made to bend them out and get this bumper started for john!
  2. so this past week I bought some new goodies! :) Ive needed all three for a while now! finally got around to buying them. and a couple weeks ago I got something Ive needed for a LOOOOONNGGGG while! then some stuff ive bought over the past year... little plasma cutter TIG welder tubing bender and ive got a little Hobart 110v MIG welder too but guess i don't have any pictures. i bought my own house and have moved from a 1 car garage to a 32'x40' pole barn. so much more room! but its quickly getting filled up. still isnt big enough. never is! with all this new stuff, building sliders and bumpers and other things will be so much easier and nicer to do at home.
  3. I have their 4.5 kit. I like it. Only complaint is tell them to not even throw in a steering stabilizer. JUNK! went through 2 of their regular grade ones and one of their high grade ones. They finally just gave me store credit for like $45 that I never used. I bought a stabilizer from somewhere else, can't even remember where, and I have had no problems. My problem was the ball kept popping out of the socket on. That end. The brand new 2nd one popped out after rolling my truck around less than 20 feet! Other than that, you're good in my opinion.
  4. Not sure about these but the outside of my tubes are 3.75" from outside of sliders. These look like a bit more but can't really tell.
  5. I live in Indiana. We don't know what laws and regulations or inspections are... Lol. The headlights in my MJ are probably more illegal... 130 watt off-road motorcycle bulbs...
  6. UPDATE: I have brought the back of the sliders out to "follow" the body line. I'm undecided on if I like them better then how they were before but I'm not the one that is buying them to put on my truck. You guys are so I adjusted them for you guys. I'll post pictures up this weekend when I'm back to them. As for how tight they hug the bottom of the jeep, that will stay the same. It is right at 1" below the body. I can't bring them up any more without changing everything. Or without customers cutting their pinch seam. So that part will stay the same. Thanks, Brandon
  7. Mmm interesting.... I just ask why? I wanted something different. And that wouldn't get busted out while wheeling. PERFECT!
  8. I have already taken care of this...I paid for shipping. He has no money in them at all. And Shelby didn't put his name on it. He came up with the design and I built them how I wanted them, which would have been this way with or without his design. How these clamps work these sliders will never follow the body line as close as he/everyone wants them to. So thats that. I strongly considered changing the design but then decided not to since there's "so many other vendors out there" Like them or don't. And if someone won't do business without a phone call, that's fine. I don't have a problem with talking on the phone though. Just depends on person and situation. Thanks, Brandon
  9. I installed one that said it worked on the 4.0 and a VW TDI motor (that right there should tell you...) And it did absolutely nothing. It livened up the jetta a bit but did nothing for my 2001 xj.
  10. I got chosen. I'm not sure if that how it works every time. But it was a surprise to me...
  11. the drawing says 6" yes. i cut them down 1/4" so the clamps would work better and use a shorter set screw. did this in front and rear. so thats not the "problem". No doubt, but when you call someone tell them something that is obvious and they do nothing but explain to you why your wrong with everything from width of the axle to the way your looking at them! bump that! i wasnt explaining why you were wrong. i was giving you the facts about how and why they were built the way they were. they werent designed to follow the body line. plain and simple. i never said i wasnt gonna help you out. i gave you the option to return them and get a full refund. they are not built wrong so I'm not going to spend money for you to build them your way/"the right way" and i never said i wouldnt post on here about them. there were pictures posted before you sent money and you had just as much time as everybody else to look at the pictures more carefully or ask questions if you had any. ive messaged the 6 people that have preordered and told them to look at your pictures specifically and the 5 that have messaged back have said that they intend to pursue their purchase with me and see no need for me to modify them to your standards. i have no problem refunding you your money and i didnt act like this "problem" didnt exist. there isnt a problem because they are built exactly how they were designed. this is Bo's design and they were what he wanted. and i think it works with no problems. if you would have came to me to have some built i would have built them exactly how you wanted them. so if youre wanting to return them and get your money back you can. but once they are returned i won't "fix" them to how you want them for free. there would be an additional charge for me to change them. i can't change everybodys sets for free or else everyone will want something different done to theirs. i also hopes that everybody interested in buying a set off me reads this and knows, one more time, how these sliders fit the MJ. thanks, Brandon.
  12. That sounds like a lot of work. Look for some "3/8 self threading bolts" .That's what I would use.
  13. I've got perfect candidates sitting around for both! Just chop and weld.
  14. I really really really want to do this for my Cherokee and an mj bed version for my truck!
  15. ill try to gather some pictures this weekend. the set screw is only adjustable from the outside so when you put your slider up in position you can set that travel from the outside before you tighten the bolt on the "inside" under the body so that it clamps. if the set screw is adjusted from the inside you have to drop the slider, take the bolt out, adjust the set screw, put slider back up. http://www.nates4x4.com/Jeep_Cherokee_Rocker_Guards_p/xj_guards.htm this is how nates are. and sit, I'm guessing, 11/16" closer to the body. if every jeep was exactly the same and the pinch seam was exactly the same i could measure and figure it out and set the set screw where it was perfectly set and tack it in place so you wouldnt even have to worry about it. just throw em up there and tighten the bolt... if you still need a visual (I'm not very good at explaining) i can throw a slider up on a truck over the weekend and try to show the process of both ways. if i can figure it all out ill raise the slider on the rest of the sets i build these are the only pictures i have so far on the clamps..
  16. when they drew it up they got the height off and we didnt notice it until after they were cut. ive always just put the gap at the top when i build them. and yes, the 2nd and 3rd sticks of tubing i bought was a hair over 2.5" so i had to buff it down to fit, it sucked... and yes 47" tube, 46 3/8" outside to outside of plates. 46 1/2 wouldnt hurt though since it will come in when you tighten it.
  17. thanks everybody! don't forget this was a father and son project! so a big thanks to my dad too!
  18. I had the luxury of using a wide motorcycle jack to raise and lower then for test fit looking good!
  19. With how these clamps are, you adjust the set screw from the outside. That is why the sliders sit down so low. The clamp is "raised" 11/16 so you can get an Allen wrench in there to adjust the set screw. Mates sliders tuck up tighter than this because there is no 11/16 overhang of the clamp. So you can't adjust the set screw from the outside once it's up there... I'll look into it but I think this is the easiest way to do it for installation. And thank you Bo for the "instructions" Basics the same thing if anyone plans to use self threading bolts. They look awesome on your truck. And so far, yours are the only 2x4 set I've sold...
  20. this is the most recent picture i have... if theres anything specific you want to see i can get pictures this week.
  21. i know youre not asking for other peoples set up but ill tell you what ive had and how well it works... FIRST, like everyone will say, upgrade your wiring harness to a putco or equivalent http://www.amazon.com/Putco-230004HW-Premium-Automotive-Lighting/dp/B001P29X4G then i got the Delta H4 housings. good cut off, good lenses. http://www.quadratec.com/products/97009_120.htm and then ive got these bulbs... Indiana, or where i am in Indiana, doesnt really care about "legal" lights. these probably arent legal in WA theyre 130watt offroad motorcycle bulbs... http://store.candlepower.com/48nahiwamola1.html
  22. Ben told me i needed to add some more pictures. i don't have anything to add about the build but here's some randoms very dirty (especially for how much ive got in her) a couple days later after the dirty picture. i didnt wash her. indiana's weather just sucks and some days are wetter, but clean better than others
