  1. I'm not sure how they compare to the 4bts. And thanks. Thank you! It's far from perfect but that's fine. I use this truck every day so that's fine. I pull a trailer and use the bed like a real truck should be used!
  2. gear is keyed to the pump shaft.could still be timed wrong but we have it timed like it was, all marks line up.
  3. He wasn't that familiar with it .Seems nobody is. Even Industrial Injection, the big massive company that "all the pros use" didn't know anything about it .But for $1700 they'd see what they could do...so I decided to go with our biggest local tech for $650. He found broken parts in it and it doesn't smoke white all the time now, it just wasn't set exactly how it shoulda been. We sorta fixed that with a wrench and screwdriver... But there's a couple other places I would try next time when I have the other pump rebuilt.
  4. so its been a while since i updated this.... got my injection pump rebuilt, it helped the white smoke problem but killed my fuel mileage for some reason. he couldnt find specifics on setting the pump so he set it close to how another pump of the same size should be set... it wasnt even close. had to turn the fuel way up for it to even pull itself so i went from 27mpg (still not that great) down to 24.5mpg. i think after winter I'm going to do some more tuning and turn the fuel up a little more. i havent done any work on it in a while...still have to get my pyro gauge put in, figure out an intercooler, and lots of other little stuff. i plugged my block heater in for the first time sunday...it helped a lot!
  5. I've now got someone wanting me to build them a rear bumper like mine that I built a few years ago. But add a swing away tire carrier... This these might be a future thing to think about too... Hitches Sliders Bumpers
  6. Good deal! Where in Indiana are you? Attica. Roughly an hour from you! Cool. I was up there a couple months ago for the Comanche meet. Even tho there was only 2 of us there lol.
  7. Good deal! Where in Indiana are you? That'll work. No rush. I'm a little on the busy side right this second anyways so a month or so would be good. Seems to be about how long everyone is waiting after the holidays.
  8. Keeping this thread in mind when tax time comes around. Definitely interest in purchasing one, even with the not-as-manly 2.5 I've got. You've done a great thing for everyone, Krusty; the other's who've helped with the original plans as well. I've seen some 2.5s pull some pretty heavy loads! But ya, just let me know in a couple months I'll try to have some ready then.
  9. I've still got a couple hitches left! Come n guys. Everybody needs one!
  10. I just want the turbines. Lol
  11. Mine is powdercoated but I can't have them all powder coated. I can't guarantee that they'll get to the customer without being scratched up...
  12. very small update... i welded this last hitch a little differently in one spot. this does not affect the strength of the hitch! it does not weaken it! I'm not sure how i feel about it though. even though youll never see this part of the hitch i still want it to look good. INPUT? a little off topic... powdercoated roses 3D nature scenes racecar
  13. the spacers are just to space it out from the bumper bracket because it has a hump in it this picture barely shows it. hump in the bumper bracket. spacers hitches that i build... this is something that i havent come across while selling my hitches... are the bolt holes different on the 86s? i use 3 frame bolts and the shackle bolt....
  14. Are you located in Canada? That would explain the shipping discrepancy. nope, I'm in west central Indiana... and i was trying to keep away from doing a standard ship rate to try to make it "fair" for the people closer to me... but it should all be good now the way its working out. i hope. i just shipped one to canada last week (not the ebay sale) and it was actually cheaper to send it across the border than it was to ship it to seattle which I'm guessing wasnt too far from where it was going in canada and i took a break from building hitches for a couple days and started building and selling some of these... started out as christmas presents for family and turned into little money makers... $25 a rose! not too bad i guess.
  15. Sold my first hitch on EBay yesterday! I still think it's going to be more of a hassle than what it's worth. The shipping is still weird .It charged him $48 for shipping and I checked it and it was $41. (That's OK with me) but then I was doing the PayPal/shipping combo thing, that I later canceled and OT said shipping was $75... So confusing. The amount he sent is right, I think, just eBay and PayPal are idiots together.
  16. well that sucks. but there is a lot of traffic on there. within 30 seconds it said 8 people looked at it. but while i was setting it up it gave me a "recommended" price of $121 because that was the average of similar items. so that is what problem i think ill have selling them on ebay... someone will see this universal fits all-requires a lot of fab work to fit hitch for $70 cheaper and buy it without understanding my hitch and price... o well. look at this!!! NO SEAM! yay!
  17. personally I don't like selling on ebay as you have to pay back a percentage of the sale to ebay after processing. thus losing almost all profit. (also why you find things for $1 but $60 shipping, I believe this is an attempted loophole to paying the fee) I didn't know you had to pay back some .(I figured it was a small fee like PayPal. But the shipping side is weird. It said all shipping was less than half of what I'm "charging" now. So I had to change some numbers and dimensions and stuff to give an "accurate" shipping cost. And none of the details or stuff I entered and chose is right. I'll give it a week and see where it is. It's probably not worth it. I just don't know where else to list them at. They're on here, Cherokee forum and facebook. I haven't tried the general Jeep forums yet. It's hard to keep up with stuff on here. Ha.

  19. will do! i built 2 hitches last night (after having to remember the quickest and easiest way to do it all again) theyll ship out tomorrow. also listed them on ebay. it was a really big hassle and i hope it pays off...
  20. I'm a welder. I'm a night shift plant supervisor but i also weld production on my line. 95% of the time i build OTIS elevators. so next time youre riding up or down in a building or on ship/air craft carrier or even riding a rollercoaster, think 'a fellow MJ owner might have built this' or if youre a farmer and use an Equipment Technologies sprayer tractor or have a Dixie Chopper mower or if you visit the new Vikings stadium in a couple years or if you go to Jack Daniels, Jim Beam, Wild Turkey or Buffalo Trace distilleries, ive probably had a small part in doing some work on all these projects. its a good job and I'm only 23 and ive had this position since i started there 3 years ago but i don't see myself staying there forever. just long enough for it to look good on a resume. But the most important thing Ive welded so far are the Hitches for all you awesome Comanche owners!
  21. Well I figured it was a reasonable price compared to xj hitches and I was definitely afraid, even at this price, that it was too high and going any higher that I wouldn't sell any. I'm still looking into making more products in the near future!
  22. Basically the only thing I did that nobody else could do, that was such a big deal, was get the plates cut in quantity and quality. And with the help of, I think, terrawombat (sorry if that wasn't who it was) for giving me the template they made, I only had maybe an hour of my personal time with having it drawn up, test plate lasered out, test fit on my truck, re-engineered just a tiny bit and a 2nd test plate cut out. And an hour to cut out 20 sets of plates... Anybody that woulda had access to a $650,000 laser could've had them cut out just as easily Yes, that was me. Appreciate you getting this done. I never had the means to mass produce anything beyond the hitch plates. Ultimately people were not as interested in those as they were in getting a fully welded assembly. I also purchased one of your hitches and it's top notch. I'll be sending it to the powdercoater this winter for my diesel MJ project. At least I shared my efforts to get this effort accomplished whereas the other blabber fabricated a hitch, posted pictures and then called us all morons because we were overthinking it and it was so easy to do. your efforts helped a lot! saved me a lot of engineering time. and thanks for your purchase. i needed a hitch badly too and since i was going to have to go through all this for my 1 hitch, why not just have a bunch made....
  23. Newest order of hitch plates are finally in! So I'll be taking orders now. I have 21 sets. The first 20 went fast and judging by the amount of people that needed them the first round, these won't last long either! Order up!!
  24. Yep! And it's basically not even a price increase. Just combining the bolt price with the hitch too. Makes it easier for me when sending everything out.
  25. i finally found a supplier that carries the "flash removed" tubing!!!! it is a lot cheaper than $15 a foot but its still abut twice as much as the tubing I'm using already... SOOO.... ive decided to change my prices a little since this tubing costs more and the rest of the steel cost has gone up slightly... Set of hitch plates was $75 NOW $80 and includes the set of bolts i sold separately for $3 Complete hitch was $180 NOW $190 and includes the set of bolts i sold separately for $3 and this now includes the receiver tube that requires no grinding for the ball to fit! this will be updated on the 1st page also. not a big price change. just enough to cover the new costs since I'm still not making a lot off these hitches. i will hopefully have more plates cut this week or next (i know ive said that for the past couple months but I'm throwing a fit about it now at work to get them cut, Ha) thanks guys for your patience and support.
