Krustyballer Fabrications
krustyballer16 replied to shelbyluvv's topic in Vendors- members making products for MJs
when i get caught up here in a month or so ill start looking at this bumper. there will probably be this version, a winch version and possibly a "hidden winch" version. Let me know if you need any measurements for that front bumper. It's an old JCR OFFROAD one, I have the bumper (with no hoop) on my MJ.Cool. It will be a little different but knowing the angles of the sides would be nice.I'll hit you up when I'm ready to start on them Thanks.- 197 replies

ComancheClub meet-up in Birmingham AL (postponed?)
krustyballer16 replied to Pete M's topic in The Pub
Hope this goes better than the "Midwest" meet in IN. 2 of us showed up after the pages and pages of discussion on it... -
I kinda like that style bumper... Wink wink

I've got the new fenders. I don't think we had a good bottle. I thinks that's why this bottle is in there. Or something is on the fender well right there I don't remember.

I personally think the FEY bumper is one of the most hideous bumpers out there! But the hitch fits good up under it Thanks Bo- 197 replies

Question about towing
krustyballer16 replied to will7798's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
i pull an 18ft. car hauler with my side by side and quads on it and have trailered a little cavalier before. no problems but this is all with brand new brakes and everything. and my little Cummins handled it like a champ. no problem with pulling it. and i have a trailer brakes so that helps a lot. 400 miles is quite a trip though... -
The mounts on the bottle are broke. That's why it fell against the brake line. A metal bottle will be free and only take about 20 minutes to bend into and octogon and weld 2 ends on. Plus I don't even wanna touch the brake line. I hate em!

Well I kept going through washer fluid like crazy. I finally figure out why over the weekend... Brake line rubbed a hole in the fluid bottle from all the vibrations.. Guess I'll have to make one outta steel and relocate it.

Before the page gets too deep, I want to thank Bo for all the information and motivation on these sliders and bumpers. Without him working with me I probably wouldn't have started any of this (at least not this soon) So big thanks to Bo! His set of sliders and bumper will ship out Tuesday! So hopefully he'll have pictures up soon!- 197 replies

HITCH PLATES!
krustyballer16 replied to krustyballer16's topic in Vendors- members making products for MJs
It was taken down until the prototype is finished because everyone was fighting in it...same with the rear bumper thread. They'll be back up by the weekend I promise! And yes the bumper is basically the same as the hitch. I used almost the same bracket and (this is what everyone was fighting about) it will be "gusseted" and welded just as strong and it'll be just as beefy as the hitch. -
i guess i missed all of this because i honestly have no idea what is going on or what went on... I'm not sure how everyone took any of my comments. but i wasnt saying everyone's input and opinions didnt matter. but I'm guessing everyone assumed it wasnt suitable for much with how it was made so far. i build Otis elevators for a living. so i know all that important stuff. and i also wouldnt build anything i wouldnt put on my jeeps. i use my front bumper (an older nates bumper) a lot! so i know what i need to build to withstand my torture and go from there. and its good that everyone has their own amount of good ideas! ill listen to it all! with this being my first bumper and set of sliders I'm still learning. thanks for all the support from everybody. id like to help everybody as much as possible!

HITCH PLATES!
krustyballer16 replied to krustyballer16's topic in Vendors- members making products for MJs
Good deal! That is a big difference on a long bed. And yes. Most of the problems you experienced should be what almost everyone should be ready to experience. Ya, the hitch sits very close to the bumper. So that ball on there can't be there. My hitch touches the bumper I built...somehow I made it to come out just perfect. Built them about 2 years apart and didn't think about that clearance at all...phew! -
I went I went 4.5" cuz it has 3" of down travel and this left a little just in case...

I installed a 12 valve grid heater. Just off eBay or wherever. And I found it cheaper to buy everything cummins. Komatsu was about 3 times as much. But I've got s buddy that gets cummins parts at dealer cost so it's not that bad. I just bought a cheap $120 complete gasket kit for mine. I didn't have to use any of them I don't think but they all look like decent gaskets.

Ya....the 2" tubing wouldn't fit in my 2"dies to bend it...so I ordered 1.75" tubing .I think it'll look better anyways. And you have helped out a lot Bo! I'lo have a better pic of the bumper tonight when it's done!
