Bolt on roll pan
krustyballer16 replied to krustyballer16's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I like the look of Earl*t's. But not in s mass produced form. Too many angles. This is more of what I'm thinking. -
Bolt on roll pan
krustyballer16 replied to krustyballer16's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Definitely centered! Everything has to be symmetric. And it shouldn't interfere any, i don't think... I'll know in a couple weeks when I mess with it after my other projects. -

Also, recessed license plate or just mounted on the outside and "rolled" around roll pan shape? I might make mine this way... -
Bolt on roll pan
krustyballer16 replied to krustyballer16's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Well I'll be modifying my hitch plates so I can mount it wherever I want it as long as everything clears with the bed. Which I know to do this the riveted on piece that covers the spare tire will need to be removed. I ran into this on the rear bumper with receiver I built for Bo. No big deal there. And I'm still not 100% how hard a roll pan would be. And at what price I could offer it. -
So here in a couple months I'll be starting another mj build hopefully. And I already plan on putting a roll pan bumper on it. I was kind of curious to see if anybody would be interested in bolt on roll pans... I haven't even looked at the bed yet to see how it would work, I've got a couple ideas, but haven't got far yet. Mine will have a hidden hitch behind the license plate. I'll just use my hitch plates and modify a set to get me started. Any suggestions or ideas?

Posted on facebook I was looking for 20" bmx bikes, next day at work I had 4 of them! Picked a bike and started cutting. On this first one, we're going to used the main tube (bottom tube) and down to the part that the pedals went through. The top tube and upright support will probably be cut off. The pedal tube piece will be welded to a notched tube piece and that will be welded to the bottom frame for the motor and axle and seat. Tried to order axle, bearings, clutch, sprocket and wheels yesterday but that didn't go as planned. Maybe in a couple weeks when I get back from vacation.

Has anybody built one of these before? Just a little 6.5hp (212cc) motor from harbor freight, axle and sprocket kit with a centrifugal clutch and some wheels on either a full custom frame or a bicycle frame cut up and put on a frame. Twist throttle set up with a simple front cantilever brake set up. If anybody else has built one, post em up! $500 or so.

Was the "new style" windshield and trim a mind blower to safelite like it was on mine? Here, it was like something that shouldn't have even been possible due to the laws of physics and they'd never heard of this before. Even though I did it 11 months earlier from the same safelite location...

Ya, the tiny tach has a clamp on the line to an injector and reads the pulses. Same thing on gas on the spark plug wire. And yes, probably the same pillar mount. I think mine was like $38 shipped. They come in 1 or 2 gauges

And the tiny tach I think I got from the website. They make them for gas motors too. $100. Simple. And right in the manifold is where everyone said to put it. Was harder to do than just in the down pipe but I guess its accurate. It's hit 600° so far just cruising.

Mighta got my brake problem fixed... Drilled a hole in the pedal arm and Put a spring up to the metal part under the dash. Size comparison of my 2 daily drivers now. MJ with 4.5" of lift and stock dodge built an old man step for the dodge too.

Finally got the EGT probe and gauge mounted! Had to weld a threaded pipe union onto the manifold to space to probe out for enough. Heated the cast manifold up then tacked the union on. (Count TIG weld or braze it on, MIG was it) Gauge mounted.

cherokee rocker on a MJ?
krustyballer16 replied to dustyinthedirt's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
None of the rockers that anybody makes are anywhere close to fitting or looking right! Mj rockers have a unique shape and companies that make replacement rockers don't follow this unique shape. If you want a nice factory look, you'll have to make your own. That's my experience with them. I've tried Sherman's and C&C. Neither are close. Hard to tell but these are made from scratch... End result. Can't even tell. Perfect -
What lift to get for my mj
krustyballer16 replied to Bubseth's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
That's how it sits... Factory has 3" rake. So does this set up. Plus it's a little heavier in the front with the cummins in there. -
What lift to get for my mj

What lift to get for my mj
krustyballer16 replied to Bubseth's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I have a Rusty's 4.5" complete kit. DO NOT get their cheapest steering stabilizer. I probably wouldn't even mess with their expensive stabilizer. The ball doesn't stay in the socket. I got 2 of them and they both did the same thing. I got store credit for it but didn't even wanna mess with them. I think I got a Rusty's. As for the track bar...I had to switch to the tie rod end for my set up. Works great. All in all, Rusty's is the way to go. I've installed a 3" add a leaf on an xj. Good stuff. -
When I bought my new truck Monday, the said there WILL be a jeep pickup for next year. This dealer is the largest in Indiana so I figure they know what they're talking about...

I don't notice it. I haven't wore shorts in years. So I'm used to it. But it isn't my daily driver either...
