  1. If this wasn't in Colorado I'd own this today.
  2. That's why the first thing we always ask in this case is: did you turn the headlight switch? :D Here's a bad thing about the '80s: My '91 sales brochure lists the Grand Wagoneer as having a "powerful" 144 hp 5.9L V8.
  3. Are these clutch-type diffs that eventually need to be rebuilt or some other type?
  4. I distinctly recall a blown dome light fuse in my '91 also killing power to the radio. No idea if it's meant to be that way or bubba'd stereo wiring causing it, though. Not sure how much that helps but there might very well be a common connection that's causing all of your trouble. Grounds are always suspect, so checking the dash ground ain't a bad idea at all.
  5. I've run into a couple of bolts like this. Stupid, stupid, stupid.
  6. If you need a truck for a short period of time, try a home improvement store. At least where I live places like Lowe's rent out trucks.
  7. I would just start by being a reasonable human being and talking to their parents. I'd imagine if you don't antagonize anyone and be chill about it they would be at least reasonable about it. Security camera is a good idea though in case something DOES happen.
  8. My typical response to that question is 30k or trade for a '91 Waggy with less than 10k miles. Am I asking too little?
  9. If you go see it again Mike, grab the glove box door if it's in good shape. Going for the Grey 'N' Black look? Why not chrome? :D
  10. Don't junk it. You can find a "low mileage" (although most engines would be low mileage by your standards) engine to drop in 'er for cheaper than you think if you look around. Give it some refreshing and it'll run like new again.
  11. There's a blue and silver Laredo that drives by most days before my first class. Makes me really, really want my truck back. These were always my favorite XJs. What do you plan on replacing those god awful 90s catalog wheels with?
  12. http://teamcherokee.com/crankcase-vent-tube-assembly-cherokee-4-0-liter-1987-1990/ http://teamcherokee.com/crankcase-vent-to-canister-tube-assembly-cherokee-4-0-liter-1987-1990/ The links in the Renix Tips to the Napa parts are dead. This is what I could find with a short search. Now stop being an @$$. We're trying to help you.
  13. Any door panels from an '84-96 4 door Cherokee will fit. Pick the ones you like the looks of most. The only modification you may need to do is cut holes for your manual window cranks. If the donor vehicle has the Jensen audio system the bezels will not clear the stock window cranks properly.
  14. Nice. Those old Marchal fog lights are on my junkyard "keep an eye out" list for sure.
  15. That woodgrain dash bezel looks really nice against the maroon dash
  16. I don't think MJs are wired for the Jensen Audio specific dash tweeters, but due to some PO screwery I know that 3-1/2 inch speakers will fit with some minor encouragement. The grill is plastic welded to the panel at least on mine, so you'll have to take the whole thing off to get to the speakers.
  17. Hey, look on the bright side. There is an apparently working 4wd AX-15 and 4.0 in there and possibly some interior parts. Even knowing that I'd have a hard time paying 550 for it. Pretty much no way it's an Alabama truck. Alabama trucks look like mine underneath.
  18. Never knew such a thing even existed. Learn something every day.
  19. :agree: Smooth ride (for an AT), very little if any noise, good traction, and good looks with whites out.
  20. The factory CPS finally died at ~146k on my truck. A cheap replacement stranded me a month later. Always buy quality sensors.
  21. The MJ had Good-For-A-Year Wranglers (not sure what model, it's been a while) on it before I got the Coopers that are on it now. On wet pavement, you'd think the truck had 400hp right off idle. Awful tires - to be fair they were a few years old but having them on the MJ was enough to make me never want to put Goodyear tires on any of my stuff ever again. Don't think I'm insulting people that have them on their trucks - just my opinion and experience.
  22. Woops. Was thinking of registration papers
  23. Thanks! Sorry for not responding, I have a habit of not checking this thread often. Here's how things have been recently: Changed the rear shocks today, and holy crap did it need them. One was completely blown out and might as well have not been there. Very easy to do and took just over an hour with 2 people, and that's with me poking around marveling at how tightly packed everything is. You don't even need to jack the car up. I used Monroe Sensa-Trac shocks and I'm very pleased with how the rear end feels going over bumps now. Most of the reason for the thread title is fixed. For such a big, (relatively) heavy car it sure does feel tight now. The odometer decided it wanted to start working again last month, and it's been running for about 700 miles now. The odometer gears came in the mail the other day so I'll be replacing those before the odometer quits again. I managed to get the blend doors to switch to cold air without CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK, but I'm not brave enough to see if it'll switch back and forth. Blend door actuator will be replaced Soon. Next priority is investigating the front end components, belt drive, and vacuum system. I believe there is a small oil leak from the passenger side valve cover gasket.
