  1. This post was put up a month ago, so most things probably either sold or they took the ads down.
  2. As of last night I'm the new owner of this truck. I will be making a new build thread, link will be in my signature when I do
  3. Very nice  I don't have very many knives but I do have a couple Morakniv Companions. Very nice and cheap too.
  4. Love it. It's a little bit on the heavy side for a carry tool but I manage fine. I don't think I've gone a day without using it for something.
  5. May not be what you're looking for, but I EDC a Leatherman Charge. I almost never need to sharpen it but I use one of these. Probably not the best way but it does work pretty well and it's very easy to use.
  6. Are you talking about the spring bolt on the camshaft?
  7. Look on the big white sticker on the driver side of the firewall. What model year does it say? Don's right, that looks almost completely factory.
  8. Looks just like my '91's engine bay, except my washer bottle is on the opposite side. Maybe a 92 or later donor?
  9. That looks to be a very nice truck indeed
  10. I swear I've seen a pic of this exact truck before. I want to restore an old Ford sometime in the future so I'll definitely be watching this
  11. I half wish I would've had the rubber gasket put on the '91 when I had the windshield replaced a couple years ago. The dang chrome trim has a bunch of chips in it and other than the drip rails it's the only chrome on the entire truck.
  12. Load sensing valve is supposed to look like this: You'll probably notice a huge improvement in braking with it put the right way. If the rod coming out of #1 is vertical it pretty much shuts your back brakes off.
  13. Ruins the whole thing if the badges aren't in the right place. First thing I look for to see if it's a repaint. And you can sometimes judge the quality of the repaint by how close they are to the right place, but no matter how good the paint job is, it looks cruddy if the badges are an inch or more off.
  14. No need for a "performance" coil. The ignition system is very good from the factory.
  15. Don't consider this an attack, but :agree:. Depends on the level of rot I suppose.
  16. I added the hood insulation last week. Like you I noticed a difference. For retainers I just did an eBay search for "Jeep Cherokee hood insulation retainers" but really they're just generic 1/4" christmas tree fasteners, but maybe I'll actually be able to remove them if I have to unlike the factory retainers. I bought the hood hardware retainers from the dealer beforehand just in case I broke one (which I did) Sent from my LG-D800 using Tapatalk
  17. I have finals next week, so it's a definite no for me :(
  18. Or you could pay about $30-50 at a junkyard for a 95/96 XJ unit. And then it'll be a real OEM part, not aftermarket crap.
  19. Oh wow, that's very nice. My reverse lights are... pretty unhelpful to be kind. I think I'll be giving these a try.
  20. Are you using the Fel-Pro double lip RMS? It's intended to seal better on worn crank surfaces. Are you making absolutely sure the seal is facing the right way? Are you making sure not to tear the top half of the RMS when you insert it in the block (the "shoehorn" that comes with the RMS helps with this) I installed a double lip RMS in my 160k truck last year and haven't had any issues since... except with the Dorman oil pan that I bought. That got switched out for a factory piece from a 1995 engine and thrown in the scrap pile where it belongs. I also used a very, very, VERY small amount of Mopar anaerobic sealer on the chamfered outer edge of the main bearing cap. Of course, make sure it's not anything else leaking and dripping in that area before you do it again.
  21. So you're saying that yours is really just an XJ unit? Didn't someone just install this into a Renix MJ? I'm very confused now.
  22. Did you remember to put the half circle shaped piece back on the rear of the oil pan?
  23. My fuel filter hookup looks exactly like that also.
  24. The driveshaft guy that built mine said about 99% of the ones like that he gets in are bad. Since the rubber breaks down with age it's not really possible to prevent.
  25. Mine doesn't turn itself on at any sane temperature either. I know I've heard it come on by itself in the past but I have no idea what temperature it turns on at as it doesn't get that high anymore.
