  1. look up Ksuspensionlifts, they have a well made harness for 30$
  2. I'm with mike, that's my biggest problem with the MJ bumpers. all the companies just take a XJ bumper and mod it a little. I still use my truck as a truck its nice to have a step in the center, and its nice to have a legit space for the license plate with a light to keep the fuzz of my case. I like Krustyballers plan combo his hitch and the HD built stock profile bumper= FTW
  3. and the height of the new spring perches, get the closest to a stock profile you can, I got "heavy duty" perches and they were a 1" to 1.5" taller
  4. didn't some of the waggy rear axles have a rear diff offset?
  5. another option, if you guys have facebook, search waterproof fuse relay box. not a bad price
  6. Hornbrod- thanks for the tip on the muffler. Wizorack- I have been to Astoria before, love it there, I'm originally from Tacoma, WA. going to be the deck chief on the steadfast. to the both of you, thanks for the chief support.
  7. hornbrod- the flowmaster is next on the the list, not sure what to put in its place though, I have 2.5 pipe all the way oout, I thought about going to the FM 50 series, but my bi annoyance is the exhaust not at 2600 RPMS on the freeway. kind of a loud drone. you got any advice? Wizorack, yes still active, currently in Duluth PCSing to Astoria, OR this summer, I got 2.5 years till I'm retirement eligible and I just found out I'm above the cut for chief.
  8. I've had my MJ for 14 years. when I first got it I put every loud thing on it I could. Rusty's intake -the whistle. 2.5 inch exhaust with a Flowmaster 40 series muffler. As I've gotten older and now commuting 20 miles on the freeway one way I'm tired of the noise. I have switched back to a stock intake. And recently put in a junkyard hood insulation pad. I didn't have a meter but I think it definitely made a reduction in noise, it seems to make the reuduction at head level making it easier to talk next to the truck. It also made quieter in the cab, by reducing the tinny sound in the truck, made it more of a low hz noise. And finally, trying to find the retainers was difficult, I looked at team Cherokee, but their iffy stock, and customer service turned me off, plus 30$ plus shipping for 13 pieces of plastic is nuts. So I went to NAPA and the lady behind the counter found a Balkamp brand pack of retainers that worked. p/n 665-3281 says they are for Chrysler vehicles and are meant for a 5/16tha hole but they work for our 1/4 holes. And the pack of 13 cost 5.29
  9. I ran the part number from above and it comes up for 91 and up cherokee, will this work for my 87 MJ? If not what else would work
  10. Si did the rusty's tube/ filter adaper then had a HVAC bend up a heat shield for it. It works good but, I now commute with my truck 25 miles one way on the freeway and get tired of hearing the whistle it creates
  11. I just bought a set of stock springs from General spring. Super fast delivery. good quality good price. What height are you shooting for? pay attention to how tall your new spring perches are, I didn't and got some that are a bit taller than stock type and my SOA came out to 8 inches.
  12. OK I just got done swapping springs, In a SOA configuration I took out my hell creek metric ton leaves and put in general springs standard 3+1. I lost 2 inches in lift. If anyone in the MN area wants a set of metric ton leaves I have some for sale
  13. I'm sprung over though
  14. i just recently fixed a parasitic draw on my MJ. for what its worth I got on youtube and followed Eric the car guy. he does a good video on how to track down the draw safely. eric mentions that you should first check any added on circuits, turns out that was my issue and i checked it last, doh!
  15. I thought about that too, looking at specs on line there is almost an inch difference in the leaf pack thickness, so that drops me a little, The other thing i was wondering about is if there is any ride height differencein the first 3 leaves between the 2 different packs. No buyer as of yet, but in the next month or 2 I will have swapped out for the lighter pack, and will have the HC metric ton leaves for sale, and this summer i will be moving from duluth to the seattle area so i could possible deliver in reson
