See my sig... My CTD is nick named Buffy for Great White Buffalo. It is a 4 door, long bed with a shell and it is white. The WJ is the Dragin' Wagon. Due to it being the lowest rig in my club and dragging on every rock it goes over. The Shelby is just called Shel'.

John is a good friend of mine. I bought Betty from him a long time ago. I just saw him a couple weeks ago at his place. He has a very nice truck with a stroker and Volvo portales! He is the owner of the OD green rig in Jonnyc's pics. Welcome John, see you in a couple weeks for the rest of my parts, lol!

The seats are vinyl. There was never leather in an MJ. Not even on the back of the seats. -

MJ - Off Road V2 Fender Flares
shelbyluvv replied to jdougn's topic in Vendors- members making products for MJs
Do they work on the LWB MJ? The gas filler door on the long box is really close to the flare. The shorties are centered on the bed side and pose no problem with any flares used. The long beds on the other hand are a whole different story. here is what I am talking about, Long Box Short Box As you can see real estate is limited on the long bed. -
Best method I have used is water down the carb or throttle body. If you have ever pulled a head off and engine with a blown head gasket you will notice the cylinder that was bad is spotless. That is what tipped me off to the water idea. I have been doing it for years. I use and eye dropper though. I had a 79 Dodge Omni that would run backwards for a few minutes after shutting it off. It was cool and scary at the same time.

It is an Eliminator. There is one a few below yours with the same starting VIN sequence. I also had an 89 Eliminator and my VIN was the same. http://www.comancheclub.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=33019

Project "Black Betty"
shelbyluvv replied to shelbyluvv's topic in MJ Hardcore Tech: Epic Journeys to Greatness
Not much of an update but, I finally got the shifters figured out. I got my shifter setup finalized today. After buying a WJ shifter and realizing it would not work I was bummed and out $60. I modified MJ shifters the work with WJ knobs. That made the tears a little less bitter. I went with the WJ setup for this reason, The O/D button. With the 46RH trans I need a way to turn the O/D off and I wanted to make it look clean. I think this setup will work best. I also finally was able to get my hood and latches figured out. I will not have to run hood pins. I am glad too. It took me 3 different hoods being destroyed before I got it right. I have more money in mock up parts than I do in the actual parts on the truck. I guess that is the name of the game when you do wierd things to cars. -
I did my research. I had one die on me that was 18 months old. No warning, just dead. That was enough to change my mind. I will never pay for a Optima battery. Again. I have 2 in my CTD and that is because they were free and both of my stock ones died the same day. I will put them back in the Charger because they are the only thing that fits within my intercooler piping. The MJ will get the other one because I have it. Like I said, if they were not free I would not run them. They are so great the Marine Corps is not using them any more. What does that tell you about them?

Look up "sudden Optima death syndrome" on the web. I was a victim of this problem. I went to a NAPA Legend series and never looked back.

Drive it around for a few weeks to make sure everything is working right. Fix what does not work right, then cut it up. I would have that thing in a pile so fast it would make your head spin. You can't drive a wrecked donor. You have no idea what problems you are going to have after you finish the swap. A driver makes the best donor.

I am always on the hunt for 80's turbo MOPAR stuff and 82-84 Dodge Rampage and 83 Plymouth Scamp crap. I cut my teeth in a 79 Plymouth Horizon and love everything about the L body cars of the 80s. I want to get my hands on another turbo van to play with. A 2 year only ride is pretty hard to find though. There are two vehicles that will always be in my garage, a MJ and the Shelby Charger.

Good list but most of the information pertains only to XJs. You should highlight to XJ only information so there is no confusion for those that are not as well versed in the XJ and MJ differences.

42, 44, 46 transmission.
shelbyluvv replied to jimoshel's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I was off a year. The 46RH was offered on the 5.2 from 93-95 on the ZJ. I still like it. You can upgrade the crap out of it and it will take a beating. It was even put behind the early CTD. it was not a good behind the diesel though. -

I like the 46RH. It is a good trans without all the electronics to deal with. It is pretty much a 727 with a electronic overdrive. They were offered in the 94-96 ZJs. -
Sounds like the SKIM went in the BCM. There is a wire you can ground to make it start and run without the SKIM. Look it up on mallcrawlin for the exact wire to ground out. You can also unlock the hatch with the key to reset the SKIM.

Please save the interior for the guys here. They love the black stuff.

I have a 04 WJ and I love it. I bought it brand new and have beat it like a rented mule. I have just under 100K on it right now and it still runs like a top. I have towed waaay to much with it and have never once got it over 220 degrees. I like the 4.7, it is a good motor. I have not heard of many failures with them at all. I do not ever see any in the junk yard either.
