  1. My truck was a 5 speed and it is now a auto. I need a pic of where the shifter cable punches through the firewall. A couple pics from a few different angles inside would be great.
  2. AWESOME! Sorry you broke but it made for a great show.
  3. Yep, got the bench and carpet out of one of them.
  4. More details would be helpful. As is the shop name and price for the pair. Any lift or are the stock arch?
  5. My truck has the 5.9 Cummins with the auto behind it. My trans is built a little better than stock. It let go at 68k because there was some casting flash that cut a seal internally. I am running stock everything even the air filter. The only non stock item is the muffler delete pipe. All my buddies have lifted rigs and they are always doing uni-bearings and ball joints. I love my truck and want to trade the WJ in for another CTD for my wife.
  6. The XJ never came with a V8. Do not count the ZJ out as a donor. I did the swap using a ZJ donor. A 4.7 might work but it is stupid wide. It might not even fit in the engine bay. For the transmission, I am using a 46RH out of the ZJ. It is basically a 727 with an electronic over drive But, don't listen to me. I only "actually" did a Magnum V8 swap.
  7. I have a 2007, 4 door, 4x4, long bed Cummins that is my DD. I can get 24-25 mpg on the highway and 18 city if I stay off the skinny pedal and keep it below 68 mph. Most small cars struggle to get the same results. I vote you get a diesel tow rig and DD. Stay away from any 6.0 Ford though.
  8. I chopped all the BCM wiring out of the ZJ harness. I have not had any SKIM issues to date. Normally they will only run for three seconds and shut off. You can do this a few times and then they will not restart. I have had none of those issues. If you do have a SKIM donor a Dakota PCM can get around this. The year of your chryco donor matters as well. 93-95 will be OBD-I and 96+ will be OBD-II. If you go OBD-II a 97+ conversion is in your near future. If you stay OBD-I a HO conversion is needed as well. Pick a direction and run with it.
  9. I got my 94 ZJ donor off Craigslist for $400. I would keep an eye out there first.
  10. The 5.2 Magnum is nothing more than a 318 from yesteryear. The 318 is arguably one of the most reliable motors made. You see a lot blown up because there are so many out there. Dodge put the 5.2 in everything. Think about how many ZJs were sold and their age/mileage. Then add in how they were maintained. The life span of a Magnum is on par with a 302 or 350.
  11. I am swapping a 5.2 Magnum into my truck. I went with a 94 OBD-I setup. My reason was to keep the old style interior. A OBD-II swap requires either a hard to find 96 XJ dash and wiring or a 97+ conversion. I have done that once already. I also stayed with a ChryCo motor because I am a MOPAR man. I also stayed injected because carbs are lame and will not pass emissions standards.
  12. I would keep all the stock interior and have XJ panels redone. You have some pretty rare door panels there. Personally, if it were mine I would restore it to factory condition. If you don't mind me asking what is the last six digits of the VIN?
  13. Got a pic of said trucklette? I had an 84 with a few mods done to it. I sold it a while back and I am still regretting it.
  14. My old 89 is still running fine with the TJ tank and sender in it. Just food for thought. See my Onyx build for the details on making it bolt in.
  15. It is under the steering wheel. Read this write up. http://comancheclub.com/topic/18991-ignition-lock-removal/page__fromsearch__1
  16. It is not Thrush Welding. Thrush makes a knock off Flowmaster that is about $30. They do not have the drone that the Flows produce. I have been running them for years on all my Jeeps. I made the mistake of putting a Flowmaster Deltaflow 40 on my WJ and it is stupid loud and drones inside bad. As soon as it rots off it will be replaced by a Thrush Welded. http://www.thrushexhaust.com/pdf/thrush.pdf
  17. Why can't I leave well enough alone?

  18. Thush welded and be done with it.
  19. I'm working with Jim right now. If he falls through I'll grab one this weekend at the yard.
  20. It is leaking fuel into the vacuum line. I think the diaphragm is ripped. The whole fuel system is jacked. It has four different injectors in it too. I just bought sone Ford "710" injectors for it too.
  21. My FPR is leaking on Betty. Research has revealed that the HO era XJ/MJ and the 93-94 ZJ all use the same one. If you have a parts rig or a old fuel rail laying around I could use the FPR to finish up my fuel system. I will need it shipped to 92277.
  22. Just pull the fuses and relays out and be done with it.
