  1. It is more the radiator support than the firewall. The 86 firewall will handle a 5.2 with minor clearance issues. The radiator support is a whole different story.
  2. You can read the tag on the diff covers to see what is in there. The 2.5 was under powered. The auto trans made it even worse. The deep gears make up for the power loss caused by the auto.
  3. Are you sure it has 4;10 gears? I have found a few automatic 4 holers with 4:56s in them. Either way you have a very nice truck.
  4. I think I'm going to agree with you on the vents Don. It does look clean without them. I had the option to grab a chrome bumper. I was afraid it would wash out the chrome grille too much and just make it blend in. I think the black bumper makes the grille pop. The only thing that really bothers me is I the radiator behind the grille. While the aluminum looks killer bare, it makes the grille disappear. I think I will hit the radiator with a high temp black paint to hide it. This should make the chrome stand out as well.
  5. Do you have a link or a part number for that cowl scoop?
  6. I went to the junk yard last week and saw a pretty nice XJ there. It had just recently been repainted. I went out to the garage this morning and stripped the fenders, header panel, and bumper off Betty. I made my way back to the yard and talked the owner into swapping all my miscolored parts for this... She is back in all her sexy black glory! Not a bad upgrade for $20. I'm not sure if the vents will make their way back into this hood. It just looks so clean now.
  7. Ground wire where the drivers tail light was. That is the pump ground also.
  8. The pump in Betty died a couple weeks ago. When I pulled it out every piece of rubber on the pump and in the tank had turned to goo. It was perfect when I put it in last year. I wonder if it was because the tank was really low and the fumes from the gas attacked the rubber and melted it?
  9. There four different listings for them on Ebay. I was looking at them yesterday. They are listed as Comanche b-pillar lights, Hummer H1 courtesy lights, Bass Cat boat deck lights, and universal flip map lights. Also if you click the aftermarket sales tab on Euramtec it sends you right to their Ebay page.
  10. I ran Rock Krawler long arms on my xj and loved them. I designed the Krawler joint in the axle end so I am a little biased. There is no better long arm kit than the RK setup. Long arms are not something to cheap out on. Pay for a good setup and be done with it the first time.
  11. I used a 94 XJ dash and wiring. My gauges do work. Even the tach. I used a 91-92 MJ sender in the tank and my fuel gauge works too.
  12. My WJ is on their site too. It is pretty cool seeing them out there like that.
  13. It you remove them mark the left and right and front and rear. Trust me here, they are a PIA to figure out the right way.
  14. The fuel pump died Monday. I got the radiator mounted and the aluminum fan shround finished. The fan and controller I want is not in stock at CRF Performance. Once they get in I will have the cooling system finalized. I am waiting on my tax return to order a B&M shifter and a few interior parts such as rear speakers and a head unit. Other than that not much to report.
  15. Black would be nice but not a deal killer. I can paint them any color I need too. I just need the vinyl ones to match the rest ot the vinyl interior.
  16. Will do, thank you. I got speaker grilles last night.
  17. I am looking for vinyl sun visors, window crank handles, (must be black) speaker grilles (the big ones that say Jensen or some crap like that) I would prefer black but anything will work right now. Please let me know the price shipped to 92277.
  18. Something like this? If so PM me!
  19. You can also hang them on google docs and pull them that way. Be careful with the FSMs. ChryCo can go after you for sharing them.
  20. Thank you! Looks like my shifter cable won't play nice with the exhaust and the back of the motor. I am going to pick up a B&M Star Shifter and see if that is a better fit. One thing just leads to another on this truck. Oh well, it's fun!
  21. Nice truck! That brush guard sucks. I'll save you the embarrassment by taking it off your hands. Box it up and ship it to me immediately! If you do decided to take it off I would like first dibs on it.
  22. Great pics and I miss wheeling in Georgia. That clay and wet rocks makes for a whole different driving style!
  23. No rush, it ain't going to move without driveshafts and trans lines!
  24. LOL, about that hole. Mine is an 86 so TCM wiring was not an option. I just need a ballpark idea. I'm trying to get all my under hood and under body junk hooked up so I can run pipes and trans lines.
