  1. They bought the BFG molds. The new BFGs have a different side wall.
  2. http://comancheclub.com/topic/48004-krustyballers-hitch-installed/ FEY with a Krusty hitch.
  3. Here is a good read on the purpose of a steering stabilizer http://txtire.com/blog/view/steering-stabilizers-the-truth
  4. To bandaid a problem
  5. Yes they were built on the same assembly line as the HMMWV.
  6. The bodies are all aluminum. They may have an armor applique over the body. Either way the actual body is 100% aluminum. I have been a Marine Corps Motor Transport mech for over 23 years and I know them inside and out.
  7. Thanks Adam, I just had this recall done last week.
  8. Tire balance can cause it and a steering stabilizer is a bandaid. I ran 35" MTRs without a SS. If your front end is in good shape, tires are balanced and alignment is good you don't need a SS and you will not have DW. I would check tire balance first. DW at 55 mph+ is normally tire balance. After getting the tires balanced I would check the track bar, ball joints and end joints for looseness. If any of them an any amount of movement, replace them.
  9. I knew he was making you one John but he will have to be the one to advertise that.

  11. Not for combat, more like a base taxi. :thumbsup:That's a whole lot of useless money spent on a "conus only" vehicle. If the military has it, they will use it. Where is the "train like you fight" mentality in this vehicle? The HMMWV needs to be replaced. The platform is 30 years old and it is past it's prime. I don't see a JK taking the place of a H1 though. The HMMWV is such a versatile platform. It will be hard to find another vehicle that will out perform it. I work hand and hand with the program office and program managers, we are keeping our HMMWVs for a few more years. The MC is looking for a all around vehicle. We have a few in mind. The one standout seems the have a Hummer feel but has a 6.6, Allison, independent suspension and full armor.
  12. I honestly don't see a use for a JK inspired combat vehicle. It is too wide to be transported by a Osprey. It isn't armored to use outside the wire in a combat role. It can't tow that much. It can't haul that much. All and all, while it is a good concept it will probably not happen. At least not as far as the Marine Corps is concerned.
  13. http://comancheclub.com/topic/49249-91-comanche-crew-cab-value/
  14. I didn't see the edits.
  15. I didn't say constructive criticism is not welcome. That is why I post the pics as the build was progressing. It is when lawyers and lawsuits get tossed around that it went off the rails. JCR had a sloppy hitch, people bitched and they pulled the product. The hitch threads went on for years with no end in sight until Brandon took the challenge on. I see this going the same way. He has plans to build front bumpers as well. Or he did.
  16. I put the Trailhawk in "Sport" mode yesterday. Oh my God! I'm not sure what that setting does but it turns that thing into a rocket ship! Shifts are longer but firmer. It pulls like a mother! It also kills the fuel mileage. I am averaging 21.4 mpg in city/hwy combined. Not too shabby for a bloated Fiat. The more I drive it the more I like it.
  17. I didn't call anyone an "armchair fabricator". Don did. I took Ben's input and was happy to about the seam. I was also going to post about the gussets. Then the thread got derailed. That thread was going the exact same direction as every other hitch thread this Forum has ever had. You will die, kill a bus load of orphans or your MJ will explode if you use that for pulling. I did delete the post, I got tired of the same old trash every single time a new product comes out. What happened to JCR's support? Yep there was enough complaining that they stopped producing MJ parts. We are our own downfall. A member comes on board to help build $#!& we need and the wolves attack the minor details.
  18. 265/75R16 on 4.5" lift
  19. That had to of been awhile ago. They don't make MJ sliders anymore.
  20. Those are Napier Flares
  21. Thank you. She is a great running daily driver. I am slowly getting all the stuff to turn it into a offroad rig.
  22. I'm wondering if your fuel gauge works? It looks like a full 97+ conversion with a stock tank.
  23. Considering he has not been on the board since 2009, I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for a response from him.
  24. I got that feeling twice... So I bought them both back!
